I ordered them today $98 delivered from Bruce at Pioneer. How much of an improvement cat I expect?? Ski lift, body roll and ride. I have stock 03 bar and long links. Bruce recommended 2.3 springs and 4mm of preload.

I swapped mine out this weekend on my 03 rx. The difference was drastic. I don,t know why yamaha ever put those goofy springs on that sled. My body roll & ski lift is allmost gone. I am sure playing with spring preloads i can totally eliminate it. It lso really really plushed out the ride. I swapped out the rear skid in mine for an xpert & never noticed how bad the front was till i put some miles on with the aftermarket skid. It was ugly...the rear was wayyy plusher then the front. Now with the straight rate springs the front is 90% as plush as the rear with the xpert skid. The straight rate springs dramatically change the way the sled behaves....more so then I ever thought would be possible.

First Warrior Trail Run & Straight Rate Springs

Took first ride on daughters Warrior today in Old Fordge, NY. Trails were not groomed in many areas. But the conclusion is that
#1 the sled handles poorly and rolls enough to get your self hurt on. All you have to do is get the soft stuff and if your not carefull you'll be off the trail.
#2 Also I find the ski lift to adds to the problem. The engine is sweet and quite strong for a sled that is new and not broke in, but to attempt to power thru turns is like commiting suicide.
#3 The drive train seems to create a lot of vibration until you get into the throttle a bit. Has anyone experienced this as well.

? Please tell me mor about the springs, where you purchase them and whats involved to install them, because I can forsee my daughter getting herself hurt on this sled and she is by no means a novice as she can
handle a firecat with no problem and that is certainly not the most stable sled produced today. Also what would yyou gus suggest for set up for a 140 Lb rider, Would appreciate som proffesional input. Thanks

These guys are right! What a difference! This should be the first modification of any 2003 RX1 owner.

Do not be afraid to get a heavy spring.

'04 warrior comes with straight rate springs. With the snow conditions we have right now any sled will handle the way you describe bigtime. I just came back from a 20mi ride, thats just the way it is in new snow this time of the season. 8) Beats no snow anytime. :D

Expect a much better handling sled I have the pioneer 2.3 kg springs, 12mm swaybar and longer links it does make the sled handle much better all in all about $200 well worth the investment IMO. BTW I weigh about 140 myself so should be a close comparison

Turk, I too have the expertx rear. I also have 11mm sway bar and longer links and simmons skis. I just ordered my straight rate front springs from pioneer and am wondering where you recommend I set my preload for a starting point. I weigh 235. Thanks
