Hey guys im new to this forum and am posting for the first time. Over the last few days I have been looking around here and their seems to be a very good knoledge base here. So I wanted to ask you guys this because I just cant decide.
Im 19 and I currently own a 02 Poo 500 XCSP. I have been riding polaris since I started at 14 and this is my second sled. I will be getting a new sled next year and I am seriusly considering a Vector or Rage. I do all kinds of riding ditch banging trail lake and ocasional deep snow. What should I get a Vector or a Rage? and if u think a vector would be right wich model GT Nytro or ER?
My final question is how will one of these machines compare to my poo in terms of ride power and handeling?
I appreciate all the help in advance.

Well the vector was Snow Tech's #1 sled for trail performance. A vector can keep up with the RX-1 until about 80 or 85 so it has a lot of power for 120 HP. The rage wouldnt be as good on the trails because of the long track but it would be better in the deep stuff. The vector is a soft ride. I would recommend the vector.

Have ridden an 02 500 poo and the vector will be an absolute riot for ya, more power yet still feels light, no vibration doesn't run fat like the poo as far as jetting, much better fuel milage just a great all around sled. Unless your going in deep snow alot or jumping alot the vector er will be great, for the deep stuff a rage might do ya better, only you know what type of stuff you ride in, our vector will go through powder up to a ft or so then start to sink in the tail end if your poo goes well enough then the vector will suit ya fine to, I would also suggest a set of simmons skis for any of them they make the sled track so nice you can ride one handed through the rip rap it is that steady. By the way WELCOME.

I would have to say the Rage will give you both advanges,and as far as trail ride it is more than cushy on the bumps,alot better then the short track,and with the 136 track which is a med. length you can't even tell it's longer on the twisty,turny trails,it's awesome.Then you can float on the deep powder to boot. 
i'm ordering the 06 rage this week,tried both and liked the rage better.

Rage vs. Vector ?
I have an 05 rage and do all trail riding, upstste ny., and canada[Quebec]. Prior to the Yammi I had a skidoo touring sled. I always liked the ride of a longer track so for me the rage was my choice. The longer tracks seem to hook up better,they are smoother in all kinds of bumps and don't fish tale much at all. I must add that the 1.25" ripsaw track is fantastic. I still have the skidoo and that could use the ripsaw track as well. I would agree with comments above,you will have no problem in the twistie stuff. I added woodys dually carbides to my Rage, it did two things 1.) stopped the darting alltogether, and 2.) takes the corners great. By the way the carbides were the 8" ones. I have not experienced pushing either. No smoke,quiet, and 20 mpg. You got to love it!

I would have to tell you to get the Rage. I have one and love it. My best friend and his wife ride an RX1 and a Vector. Toni loves her Vector and says she would pick it over my Rage But her husband says the Rage is the sled he would rather ride even over his 03' RX1. By the way he has an M-10 w/Ohlins and says the Rage (at least the way mine is set up) is just as nice a ride as his and he felt like he had more control with it.

I don't think the vector is as great a trail sled as some might say. If you ride twisty, rough trail than you might consider a sled that will handle cornering better than the Vector. First of all the skis are really aggressive and a slight pull of the bars will almost tip this thing right up. So a ski change is in order. Second off the rear shock is garbage so the sled rides too hard on the stutters and bottomes on the big bumps.
The fuel mileage is the BEST of any sled I've ever had and your clothes don't stink at night.
If you ride in VT. the trails are usually really bad on Sundays so a decent bump sled is in order for you. At this age I'm guessing you like to ride hard with your friends and certainly would like to keep up with them in the twisties and bumps. So my friend I will go out on a limb here and say that you might be in the market for a Ski-Doo Rev 600 sdi. You can BEAT it all day long and keep up with your friends and still have money left for beer (chocolate milk) at the end of the day.

I'm by no means "brand blind", but I will say that I have absolutely no problems in staying right with any REV or F Cat in the tight twisties. You do need to learn how to ride this sled a little differently though. Body english, throttle, brake, and engine brake all must come into play. When they do, it handles like a dream.
Definately get rid of the stock carbides....they're too small. I put a set of 6 in Shaperbars on mine, and what a difference! I'll be putting the 7.5 inch ones on for next year. The Shaperbars make the sled handle increadibly well in the slop and loose stuff.
To my surprise the Vector handled the tight twisties with no problems what so ever. I will say that when considering equal riders.....the guy on the Vector will fatigue sooner than the guy on a REV in the bumps. I'm not talking several hundred yards or even a half mile of bumps, but several miles.
I do agree that the rear track shock is not as good as it should be (I will be changing mine with some sort of adjustable/rebuildible unit for next season). But as the way I have my rear suspension set, it eats studder bumps for breakfast.....I don't even feel them any more. It can also handle the big stuff as well, but will bottom on the largest hits, due to me removing the anti bottoming stoppers.
So just to reiterate, no guy on a REV or F cat is going to be leaving me due to trail conditions......period.

I have got a Vector ER and absolutely love it. I would recomend the rage though for the all around sled. That is what i would have got if the new susbension was put in for '05. Loomy
