2012 nitro mtx 162
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

so, i put down my $500.00 deposit on a new 2012 nytro mtx 162 with the supercharger option. I have been waiting patiently as they said that they would probably see the sled in october. i have called around 3-4 times starting in september just to see if i could get a little better eta on when the sled shows up at the dealer i ordered it from. They could not give me any more info except that it should be in oct.

I decided to call again today as i just called last week and had not heard back from them, which has been the only minor complaint i have with them, not returning calls when promised, anyway, I was told from the salesman that he would check and call me back in around 10 minutes. So around 4 hours later, i recieved a call from the sales manager, and he informed me that when i put down my deposit, they ordered my sled and that they have a piece of paper that says that they ordered it from yamaha. the only problem he said, was that yamaha never recieved the order.

So here i sit, with a $500.00 deposit and no sled yet. the dealer told me that they were going to work with yamaha to get me a sled.

I am not naming the dealer at this time as i dont think that it is a important detail at this time.

So what should i do. any thoughts from anyone?

I am trying to be understanding and calm as mistakes happen, but i am getting concerned that i may not get the sled i have been waiting for for what seems like a eternity.

thanks to everyone for the help.

Try and relax and give it some more time, any respectable dealer will bend over backwards to get you your sled, like you said mistakes happen it's just to bad you found out so late, but I would have faith that it will be corrected. If it helps at all my neighbor ordered the new artic cat 1100 pro climb with the retro graphics package, told him he'd have it In September, just found out yesterday it not even built yet! Hang in there you'll get your ride.

That puts you in a tough spot. I would keep being persistant with the dealership trying to get you your new sled. Chances are if your dealership can be persistant with Yamaha you should be able to get something. And if all works out you might even get something thrown in with your sled because of their mixup. Be understanding but just keep reminding them... Hey you screwed up and if you didn't then Yamaha did and they should get it straightened out.

You mean that your dealer never got a confirmation, that Yamaha received the order, and never checked on it ?

from the way it sounds the dealer placed the order and has a confirmation that is was ordered, but yamaha didnt recieve the order in the system, at least that is what he is telling me. i called another dealer to get some advice/info. and he said to be persistant and help them to help me by calling some other dealers to try and locate a sled that they can transfer. any other thoughts on this/ comments?

I was going to say ask them for a list of sled that are close to yours that are available at other dealers and see if you can find one that you like and have the dealer install the boost option at the dealer.

I heard they were going to be short on Nytro's. I would not lighten the pressure up and call daily!

What is the cut off date, for sleds to be build for this season, or has that already passed ?
I guess on a good note for this situation, is that there are people who for one reason or another, can't take a sled that they ordered, and you might be able to get one of those. See if your dealer, can send a notice out, to other dealers, that you are looking for that type of sled, it sure can't hurt to try.

i talked to them today at lunch and supposedly they have located one and are just trying to get it shipped to the dealership.

as far as the cut off date, i was told that they have already built all of them for this year, unlike automobile mfg.'s they dont build them all year around.

i havent heard that will be short on nytros, i figured the opposite, that they wont be able to sell all of them. i have a list of a few dealers that have some left over 2011 nytros so it makes sense that there will be some leftover 2012's at seasons end.

i called them to see if they had checked the dealer locator to get a sled and thats when i was told that he thought that they have found one and that they are making arrangements to get it shipped. i asked if they would let me know by this friday, which was when they said that they should know something, to call me with the latest word and hopefully a eta.
