I have a 05 RX1 with 121" track and would like to go to a 136 (I think!!). I do most trail, but really would like to go to a longer track so I can do some offtrail riding.... Especially since the GF just picket up a 12 Nytro XTX and I want to keep my manhood intact.....!!! :-o

So my question is... Is the 136 enough? and what skid should I use/get?? And will I need to upgrade my ski as well??

Basically.... Please help a fellow RX1'er from getting left behind in the powder by a female ;)!

dude, that is a huge can of worms you are opening up. Most will say your mono is great as a 121, but not so great as a 136. If you want huge transfer and the ability to pull the front skis at almost any speed, then a x2 (but you will give up some ride comfort). If you want a great ride on the small to large moguls, then a M10 (thats what I have and you will loose some top end). Many like ditch pickel and doo skids they find on ebay, however most of those have been 121's.

The main thing that you will want to do at the same time is to lower the gearing when adding a 136. A stock Warrior is geared lower.

Skis's - are you kidding? This post will be banned by a mod over that debate. lol. By going to a 136 you are going to increase push in the corners. Alot if you are studded. Different ski's for different conditions have thier pro's and con's. The best I used were Slydogs with Bergstrom's triple point wear bars.

Good Luck.

Definitely go 136"

The sled will ride smoother, and you will pick up quite a bit of flotation when off trail. Put on a track with a 1.75" lug.

I stretched my 136" Warrior out to 151" and I love it. Of course, I ride mainly off trail.

You can also use the Yamaha mountain skiis to get more flotation.

136" or a 144" and you will like either. I have the 05 mountain yamaha ski's on my RX1 and have been happy with those.

Thanks guys... ;)!

Since I have decided to go to 136'' I have been checking out the OFT Billet Rail X-stensions.... and I was wondering if anyone has any experiences with these??? These seems like a pretty easy and cost efficient way of extending the skid.... or should I just go get a used M10 skid (If I can find one)?? Or Or will a 136" Warrior skid fit??

I'm sorry for the many questions.... But where else to ask but here!!! :rocks:

I ride my wifes 05 rx1 121 track with mountain skis on it and I can go pretty much anywhere with it. Pick your spots where you stop is all I do like on top of a hill instead at the bottom. You are going to need the skis no matter what skid you put on so that would be a good place to start. Might be all you have to do is ask Santa for some new skis.

Im running a expert x 151 and I love it guys will argue its too long for trails but besides the fact that it looks bad #*$&@ it rides like a dream and as far as the push in the corners its no worse then it was with the 121 pro action. I have had simmions flexis on it all along but this year after a lot of research im going to give a set of sly dogs a go! Good luck dont be afraid to stretch her out! What about rail extensions for your mono? Just a though good luck!
