Need tips on new mods for the summer.

I already got some done, as you see in the signature.

This is my summer plan so far;

- Air frames
- Roest skid plate
- Front bumper
- New front end (a-arms, subframe, shocks...) - Insurance

Anything else I "need" ?

Thanks!

OFT Racing relocator, oilite A arm bushings, Yamaheater, Trailtank.

what is OFT Racing relocator?

its an aluminum steering block that replaces the shite yamaha ones that are plastic, it also comes with O-lite bushings. The main point of it to relocate the bars ahead so they stand upright more, maybe about 2 inches ahead and 2 inches up. It is so much nicer to turn the sled now and standing up now is better as i don't have to hunch over to hang on to the bars.

Oft Relocator
Jacobson Roll OVer...enough spilling
Running Boards...which ones...not sure
Skid
PowerClaw Track

and my favorite annoyance....hand guards, which I keep breaking off the mounts on my yami guards (4), but am going to put up a new post for this one.

Dimebag, are you going to use the 08/09 Airframes or the 10/11? I find the old style 6 degree running boards are too flat, too wide and they act like a straight rudder when you counter steer in pow. Just try a stock '10MTX to compare. Its a very real problem when you cross someone else's track. It doesn't seem to react to steering or body language in this situation, because the running boards are forcing you straight (as opposed to an arc) and when this happens, your odds of rolling over are pretty good. Maybe its mostly because the running boards are simply too long....don't know, but even my xtx is much, much better in these situations (new tunnel design too).

I know its a big mod for our machines, but might be worth the grief. Others have done it, and it is mostly a rear suspension mount modification issue, which might not be too bad. Just curious.

I already have the oilite bushings, and the OFT roll over kit.

But the trail tank was not a bad idea..

I dont think I need the relocator on my RTX, as it is already pivot style.

Have thought about getting some drop brackets.. Any ideas on which ones to go with?

Dimebag, I have an 08 RTX ....I had the pivot riser in the most upwright position ( as far as it can go ) and put the OFT relocator on the next season and would highly recommend it....not only does it put the bars in a better postion, it also changes the sweep of the steering so the bars don't end up in your lap...I found it much more comfortable and gave better leverage...well worth it. I now have my riser pointing straight back...inline with the steering post, way more comfortable.

Hmm, I compared mine to a friends 08 MTX with the relocator and it seems like pretty much the same to me..

Anyways, I'm happy with it like it is, so I think I'll put my money on something else instead.

Have looked at the drop brackets from timbersled, but don't know if its worth it.. Could sure use some more clearance from keeping the running boards hanging in the deep snow..

We've had that exact comment from a lot of RTX owners.

There are a couple of people here on the forum that manufacture risers that switched over to the relocator.

One of them doesn't even run an aftermarket riser anymore. ;)!

Sounds to me like the relocator is all that is missing. ....as if the perfect ergos wasn't enough it also give you more room for working under the post!

Time to go for the MC240 KIT!

I have been strongly thinking about it but it is so expensive. Is it really worth the investment. For that investment does it smoke everyone else including the APEX?

I am way too pleased with the mcx180 kit too even consider to go with the 240 setup. I don't wanna loose the wicked throttle response the sled has today..

I am also planning to change the exhaust donuts, and flex pipes. Are there any aftermarket options for the flex pipes? What do you recommend? Thanks.
