What type of belt do you run?

ok ill let u know what i find next time in garage! i got few xs and oem to compare

FIRST.You always have to make sure your C/C distance is correct or you can pull your hair out with this adjustment. Years ago it was a good practice to have a old cloth measuring tape to check several belts at your local dealer... you would think today's manufacturing process would be better but you will find a difference in length still. "Its a long story on how they make them" A little tip for you guys... I am very picky about clutching and belt deflection and have found that on my apex with everything right on C/C, offset the belt that fits the Phazer ( dont recall the part number....I think its the 8GS) fits much better.( the C/C is longer on the Phazer))Why? they run a little longer and it will let you adjust to a proper belt deflection. This is critical to good performance. The stock 8dn belts are just too short.. I have found the longest one still to be too short which gives you a poor secondary adjustment (belt adjusted too high in the sheaves with a sqealing hot clutch and a sled spinning 20 mph on the stand) hope this helps. The 8GS belt run on average 3/8' longer which is huge in way of setting up your clutching on a apex better and properly. You want the ability to adjust your belt deflection in a way that on a jack stand your track just creeps forward very slow with the belt sitting about 1-2mm above the secondary sheaves.... hope this helps!

yup , mine with xs on it as stated in previos post , deflection perfect with track just creeping on stand , offset perfect as per my tool think 15 mm, no squel, secondary heighf perfect coulnt be happier with this belt! just gotta see what happend with that belf of metallicats!

your right metal! the xs on sled now has smaller top cogs the spare has large! they must of changed it up but either way both belts worked fine for me

both belts measuure bout 34 mm wide with about 1,800 miles on them

think new is 35 mm when 1 3/8 is converted

is the circumference the same as the chart ? and widths?

Strange how they fit so different on my sled, I am assuming the newer belt is simply a bit shorter then. It looked wider to me, but you've proven that they are the same width!
