Not sure what the guys who are complaining about a wet left foot-- I have 1100 miles on my 09 xtx and I havent felt or even thought about a wet left foot.. Just wondering what you guys are wearing for boots-- or are you wearing boots?? Mine have been dry as desert dust!!!!

Klim

In deep powder riding my left foot got soaked on my XTX. I wear the original KLIM snowboard type boots.

I still like my sled.

my feet never get wet i noticed today that my bibs had a layer of ice around the ankle still dry nothign like a good pairof bibs and boots

I had wet boots/socks all last year, but has been bone dry since I installed the LBS plate. My bibs do get a good icing at the bottom, but I can deal with that.

I dont get wet if i ride trails or if i dont get off my sled stepping in powder. The problem for me is the hot air that is blown out by the clutches.
It warms up the boot and when i step in the snow the snow sticks to the boot and melts when i start riding again.
Should have gotten Klim boots instead of my DC Yamaha boots!
BTW i have the plate installed.

Last night I did my normal weekly wrenching thing and was surprised to see the inner left cowl perfectly dry and the inner right cowl filled with an ice cube that had conformed around the chaincase, under the brake, and almost totally encrusted the oil tank. We'd been powder busting and river riding for a few days in 0*F temps, but I'd never seen anything like that ice chunk. It doesn't bother me and I won't do anything about it, but it was interesting considering all this wet foot talk.

Maybe Yamaha ought to put the electrical stuff on the clutch side to keep it dry.

Dry here, But I plug a small hole between the clutch and the center heat exchanger...I believe this is were most of the waters coming from

Here is what I did to my 08 RTX. I also covered all the vents including the ones I cut with PET SCREEN. I used silicone adheisive to stick it on. Then I totally closed off the footwell area so the heat would divert out the side panel. It works great and my pant leg and foot are dry.
