What's a good track for a boosted short track Nytro?

I need to replace the track on my boosted Nytro and was wondering what you guys have seen that can stand up to this kind of HP? I was thinking of the Cobra track and wondering if its worth it to go to a 128" track over the 121"? I ride 70% trail 30% off trail and can't keep my thumb off the loud flipper. Thanks for any help.

I would say that track choice is more about your riding conditions than your horsepower.
Anyway, unless you are spending all of your time on icy, rock hard trails, I would recommend Camoplast Back Country 1.75".
It will ride circles around the stock Rip-junk in soft trail conditions and of course also in the powder.
No more hyfax meltdown problems, I did around 4000 kilometers on my first set.
Good durability too, at least on a stocker...

Just went 136" on mine from 121". Highly suggested from the forums, and the dealer. And it was down to the Cobra, and the ripsaw for my trail riding. So I went the 1-1/4 ripsaw with lots of 1.450 studs, since I got it for a steal. This is going to have about 10-12lbs of boost on the stroked engine I have now. Project still in action. Should be ready soon ;)!

I almost think the 1.75" track would be to much for trail riding and burn up my hyfax quick. I don't know if I would like the 136" track for the tight and twisty trails I like to ride. Every 136" I've ridden seems to push more than I like in the corners. I really like my Cobra on my XP so I'll probably stick with that track but I need to decide between a 121" or 128". Do you really gain much with a 128"? What do you gain with it maybe 3" more footprint on the snow? Does the sled handle any different?

I went with the 2" challenger track, but most of my riding is in the hills but i love the track! The best track i have ever rode on hard pack is the backcounty 1.75.... hard lugs and it wears awsome!

128" will give you better hook up and floatation than a 121. I,ve got 15000 miles on my turbo and the best studded track Ive used is the 6 pitch camoplast preditor. For your type of riding 1.25" will do you just fine. ;)!

No fix for the clock, it really doesn't bother me at this point.

Do you really notice the difference of a 128" over a 121"? I mean when you figure it out there's really only about 3 or 4" of additional track on the ground which is pretty costly when you add in the rail kit.

More track, more studs, = better hook up. At times I still trench down the ice.

I had a 136 Nytro this year and hated the Cornering. I would suggest you go to a 128 and look at Ulmers setup.

I like to run it pretty fast through the tight and twisty trails which is why I was concerned about going to 136". I might just leave it 121" for this coming season and see if I can get it to hook up with the Cobra track. I'm not sure if the added cost to go to 128" is really worth it. Do you know Brian Marsh by chance?

Curious as to what you are running for skis. My 136 Nytro was better in every way including cornering. And the XTX guys aren't complaing either. Could be something else going on here. Also if you have always ridden 121's it may be that. Some of my buds don't like the longer tracks no matter how good I think they ride. My last four sleds have been 136 so maybe its me!
