There's only one 174x16x2.5 track.... CamoExtreme.

So I have to go to a 3" paddle if I want something different?
Anyone have comments on 2.5 vs 3" and the track selection?

The only 174" length track is a CamoExtreme. Either a 2.5 or 3" lug, 15" or 16" wide. From what I understand, the 3" is amazing in the bottomless big POW days. But for most situations, one would only need the 2.5. And I guess the 2.5 runs down the trailhead better too...

And it fits without removing the front radiator too...tapex_07 said:And I guess the 2.5 runs down the trailhead better too...

I'm running a 174x16x2.5 CamoExtreme and have had endless deep powder days this season, it goes everywhere i want to put the machine and boondocks like crazy. last weekend had 3-4 feet of fresh champagne powder and the track was doing it's job well. from my research earlier this season i found that 1)the 3" paddles will "chunk" if you tag a rock or anything since they have more leverage. 2) cooler mod is more money+time=headache. 3)the 3" is something like 10 pounds extra. 4)3" costs more.
If you're not turbo'd yet, you'll want to be after you put a 174 on, I'm running non turbo'd this season and it does alright but the motor is working pretty hard. 18/20 gearing is a must! hope this helps.

When running 174", what rail extensions are you using...? And what about the tunnel extension...?

MMP rail extensions, they are the style that don't require longer sliders, I went this way to keep costs down and haven't had a single issue.
I got a 174" tunnel cap from CR Racing for more than it was worth... if you drill the rivets off the tunnel support that holds your snowflap on you can just as easily go to a local metal shop and have them bend you a peice of aluminum to the right angles of the tunnel and length you want then re-rivet the flap support onto it and you'll have an almost identical extentsion to the CR Racing one, again... keeping costs down.
As for supporting the extension I just picked up a Doo-Doo XP Rear bumper and it fit pretty nicely and gets the job done... pretty flimsy though.
