whats the best riding sled

I had a 2006 apex gt studded with a 136" track, yamacharger, ulmer clutch, power commander, Hauck exhaust, and header. Lined up next to a 1200 with rb3, kutney clutch setup and slp Exhaust. In 1200 he beat me, and road a damn wheelie to 80 mph with his loose suspension setup. On the lake and rail bed I beat him, but how often is that? It took a lot of muscle to whip my apex around the corners to try and beat him, and I was socken wet. I road a 1200 with a pcv, and clutch setup recently that wasn't close to my apex in the straights, or close to the other 1200 with the rb3 setup. But still real good in the corners. The 1200 though isn't exciting by any means. It is flat, boring and overly easy.which when I'm older I may like. I prefer a more corner fun sled like my nytro. Yes it takes more work, but for some reason feels snappier and more fun. I wish ski doo would of put that 1200 in a rev chassis. Now you are talking my style. But best sled for comfort and all around ease I say the vector or 1200 doo. For some snap and fun I say the nytro. For long day runs cruising, and the occasional, race then the apex. That is based upon stock or minimum upgrades like exhaust and clutching. For building and potential I would like to try a cat with a hijacker, exhaust, and beefier shaft setup. Sounds like fun to me. Just my .02 from head to head experience.

I believe the R motion Renegades are smooth, reliable and No doubt fast in Knapps hands.

Why anyone would ask for proof from one of the most successful snowmobile drag racers is really bizarre. Maybe just naive, or may be I am.

Any way, I have ridden Renegades-pre R motion, they are nice riding. I also have and regularly ride Apex, Vector and Venture-all GT's love the motors, give the RIDE nod to the Doo. So to the original ? the Doo gets the nod.

whats the best riding sled
with this being the topic I think it all depends on set up rider style and agressives ness it has showed in the past yamaha race program that it takes 's a bigger man to ride the yamaha in the rough it just wears out the little guy quicker ...some how this turned into witch is faster a yamaha or a doo set up by mike knapp

I ride my used Yamaha and don't have a "what if" gut feeling. With that Yamaha in general to me personally is the best ridding sled having that piece of mind is very good.

Hard to beat my 2011 XTX for overall best trail ride, smooth, fast and comfortable. Best ride I ever had until I pulled out the wallet and got a 2013 Renegade X! rMotion is the best suspension on the market IMO (although it may be a little too soft), jury is still out on the 800 etec engine although it is a beast.

I picked up a 2013 Renegade X 800 smokey version and would say the ride on the R motion is awesome thus far and have rode nothing like it from a rear skid perspective. Only have 250 k of ride time but if you folks are interested will do a write up after more seat time. Have rode. Yami 4 strokers last 9 years and needed 2 up versatility and no one but ski-doo had the option (except Arctic Cat on the cross tour and I did consider the turbo). The new 1+1 set up is exactly what I needed. Going back to a smoker is tough though
