Just curious, but what is the difference between the RTX motor, which requires premium, and the GT motor, which can take regular?
Thanks

There was/is a misprint on the Yamaha website. All Phazers recommend 91 octane but can use 87octane with slightly reduced performance.

I wonder if that misprint was intentional? Doubt it, but first thing i thought was 'cool'.

I just use the 91 unless the gas station's price is like 1.30/L for premium. happens a lot if i am in the middle of nowhere.

My WR250r calls for prem too. A 1-1/2 gal tank, so when i go to fill up and put a gallon of premium in it, how much prem am i getting? A half gal, and filling the hose and machine with prem for the next guy?
Anyway, i was forced to use reg once,(in my Phazer) and i only put a few gallons in it. It wasn't the octane that worried me, i was on a 3 day trip and was worried the computer wouldn't work with retarding the timing and what not like it was supposed to and i'd have problems. The light didn't even come on, so i had no problems.

Must be around $3.50 a gal for prem in central Wi by now? I don't really pay attention. I'd hate to be that family guy filling up that 50k SUV and 4 family sleds everyday, then eating, motel, etc, etc. $$$

I only make 2,000 a year so I haul my sled with a 93 Toyota corolla and a small utility trailer. Got to many races that way, ask yam177.

I have a Toyota Rav4, single place alum trailer, and keys to my sisters cottage, otherwise i just could not afford it! Last mini vacation, my friend and i stopped at a bar once to warm up and have a pizza, other then gas, that's all i spent. I just don't have a lot of cash. I guess that's why it gets frustrating buying parts to get this thing to handle. There's my life story, lol. (Off work and bored, sorry.)

Out side of the USCC as well.
I took the car to Munnising and Grafton. You took me to Warroad and AJ took me to Red Lake. I still had to take it there to get the sled in to MN. Also The year before I use the same thing for snox in Iowa.

This year I haul lots of scarp metal to, even moved a garage using it.

So for a car hauling stuff, its alot!

It was $4/gal at shell in my area last week

Ah, how about $5.50 for reg ($1.21/litre) and close to $6 a gallon for premium. But you guys have that small gallon too so that narrows the gap a bit.

ps. Imp gal = 4.54litres (which we don't use anymore in Canada but it is the standard used for calculating mpg, etc.) and the US gal = 3.78 litres I believe.

Yeah, it is tough if guys are unemployed for sure. I'm saving now because we have another brutal short winter but that is not really the way I want to save! I'd like to have a sled that gets 30mpg and a truck that get 30+ mpg. Could put a hitch on my Corolla I suppose.

It was under $3 two weeks before then surprise $4

avoiding ethanol blends also helps.

will through in some premium if price is decent or if i have too when out in the boonies.
