Hi Guys,
I'm debating buying back my 06 Nytro from my insurance company. The engine caught fire due to my battery tender. The hood completely burnt by the time i put out the fire. I'm interested in buying it back mainly for parts i can use on my other yamaha rs sled. i know I can take the muffler and oil pan for sure. The Nytro also has Fox shocks and the rear suspension had a good quality shock too that is untouched. Are there other ods and ends that could make buying it back worth my time? Could the engine block be ussable once all the melted plastic uptop is cleaned off or would it be heat warped???
I was thinking of buying it back for around $1000 but is that too much money???
Not sure why my images aren't displaying but the links DO work.

Why would your engine caught on fire using the battery tender. Never heard
of this before. Is there something that the rest of us should know?

My guess is the wires crossed when the hood closed..... or it spontaniously combusted. Either way it's burnt up and i'm considering buying it back..
So...... back on topic.... is $1000 too much for a buy back? Need some opinions...

I would offer them something like $300. Remember an insurance company does not want these kind of things on inventory and you should have first dibs on the buy back. I think $1000 is too much.

Crazy... I was way outbid and it ended up going for $1500 at auction.

They must do things different where your from here the insurance company names a buy back price and the owner has the first dib on buying it back prior to ever going to auction.

The buy back my insurance company offered me (my first dibs) was $3100 which seemed WAY too much money to spend. So i took my settlement and tried to take a chance at getting it back at the insurance company's auction. I would have liked to get it back for under a $1000 but someone else there wanted it more.

Unless you are a total workaholic, you are better off with out it. Hidden stuff overlooked just keeps the cash register ringing. My opinion.
