Ripsaw is a pos i dont have good luck with it,as this is my 5th track on my 06 now apex, but when it poops this one out,it will have the old stand by preditor 9837 studded of course,as is the ripsaw. :ORC

What have you done to destroy 5 Ripsaws?

IMO.. the ripsaw is the best trail track you can buy...

BUT... it sucks in off trailling..

I have 2200miles on my apex with 144 studs and track looks like new

My brother has over 4000 miles on his and one pulled out stud.. other than that the track is holding up great..

THe 1 inch track that yamaha used on the 03 rx-1 and vipers WERE POS....

I think alot of guys who had problems with ripsaws rode in marginal snow and had eithe loose tracks or over tightened ones..

I have a Ripsaw with 96 studs on my 05 Vector ER, and a Ripsaw with 144 studs on my 06 Vector GT. It works okay on my ER, but the GT has oustanding traction...it's pretty hard to keep it from doing wheelies. In deeper powder they aren't as good. I'm putting 156 studs on my Attak, I can't imagine what that's going to be like. ;)!

I think it is just to soft for the radical style of hard driving me and my buds do,but i was the only one this last year that completely destroyed my tracks, two delamenated, one was the hacksaw and it to delaminated and finally last one never got installed on my sled,as i sent it out to matt on the exchange from attak 136 problem length track to the ripsaw 121 that my sled curently rides on. Now i will open up the remainder of the closed windows and clip them, trim off some lug height so my 1.175 studs will penetrate better and see what happens for 07,if this does not hold up,than a 9837 is going on.

I put 4000 miles on Camoplast Ice Ripper track last season. New 07 Attak GT has Ice Ripper. Great track for all around use. Lost 1 stud last year.

While I liked the Ripsaw's performance, it was a little noisy and I'm starting to think it might be more aggressive than needed when combined with 144 studs (without studs it would be my #1 choice). That is a lot of extra weight to carry around, burning up fuel, etc.

Durability wise, the first one lasted, unstudded, about 6000 miles (taken out by a suspension failure). The second one (9955H144 - reinforced and prepunched for studs with 144 Gold Diggers installed), after 6000 miles looks very good, but close inspection shows some fraying and broken fibers near some of the lugs. I suspect it would be good for another 2000-3000 miles, but that would be it.

I've had extremely good durability in the past with the 9818 and 9837. After 6000+ miles they still look new.

Right now I'm leaning towards the 9837H144 for this season, which is the 1" Predator six-pitch, fully cliped, reinforced and pre-punched for 144 studs. I think trail performance will be close to the studded ripsaw, fuel economy and top speed should be improved, it will be quieter, it should work about the same off-trail, and it should be extremely durable.

Have any of you tried the 9837H144 with 144 studs? How did it perform? Durability?

I like the performance of the Ripsaw, but hate its build quality. It is a thinner and weaker track than I originally expected when I bought it, when compared to my stock yoko track, guess thats why its lighter...

I ride here in perfect snow conditions most of the time, and although I ride alot and out on lots of miles, they are easy ones with the track tensioned perfectly and aligned to spec, all bearings and sliders are good, and its being powered by my 500 fan, and still managed to crack a few lugs, almost right through and ending up being ripped off, and pulled a stud through. The windows arent cut, which they should have been from the factory, which means killer slider wear.

The track that best suits my needs is the 6-pitch, and will be my next track, seems to be tougher as well.
