Monday the 8th up north, the 15th in the south (if there is snow). The dates coincide with the closing of hunting season.

"The last day of hunting season is not exactly cut and dry, let me explain. All of Tug Hill is in NYS DEC Northern Zone. The last day of regular and bow deer hunting ends on sun down Dec 7th. Now within the Northern Zone and the Tug Hill Plateau there is Zone 6G, 6H & 6C bacisly anywhere North of Rt 177. In that area there is a late muzzle loader hunting season and that ends on Dec 14th. So no runs to Copenhagen or Carthage before the night of Dec 14th."

Here is some more useful info about the prior N & E owners closing the trail behind the Constableville Nice & Easy.
Peter is the VP of N & E stores.

Peter-
Update....I just left a meeting with the prior owners...I've provided an alternative plan that would allow them to reconsider. It will take lots of work ASAP and i'm on it as i write this. Another local club and the County would need to step in...Apparently, during these recent issues prior to the opening of the season, the local club has failed to step in help. The major beef is with the local club...The 2 mile of trail has been ignored (again in the view of the prior owners) and with the season opening in a couple of days it will require the proper signage and stakes to allow sleds to pass on their property. Without club support it WILL BE CLOSED !! I'm not sure if everything can be worked out, but at least they are willing to let me try. I must say, listening to their side of the story, i can understand their reason to close the trail. Having sleds buzz their house and dissregard property signage has only made matters worse. We must police ourselves or this trail will never be open again.
I should know more by days end. In the mean time the trail is closed and we have interested parties working on a solution that would need to be ok'd by the owners....If not, i can only hope that the trailer parking would help for those that need it and a southern route would need to be taken to get back on Tug Hill. It will hurt business for sure, but its out of Nice N Easy control.

"Some good news to report...Another local club has said yes to maintaining the trail behind the store. I've arranged a meeting for Wednesday evening with all parties involved...We will have an answer then....If the land owners are satisfied with the new clubs proposed assitance we may have a go!! Lets all hope so.
