I my kids has not softened at all either but he love it. It was rock hard feely first ride but he sez he is used to it now and wouldnt have it any other way. I think my WRP softened just a real little bit.

The MM seat retains your stock taillight. I had to drill the base of mine and pull the wires through to do it though. NIce riding seat. A little taller than the stock Mountain seat I had on there. LOTS lighter!!

Here is my 2006 Attak with Mountain Mod seat. Just bought this seat from the classifieds.
The riding position is 100% improved. Much better for my 6' 4" frame. The only thing is the seat is a tad bit too firm. Something that I will have to get used to.
Install was super easy. The hardest part was taking the stock seat apart to get the rear tail light wiring out. There is a cable with connector that attaches near the gas tank and the other end plugs into the taillight assembly. This cable runs thru the seat and is sandwiched between the trunk and the seat frame. You need to drill out rivets and dissemble the stock seat to get the cable out.

Kevin, you could do that, but I made a new harness. That way when I sold my seat, the new owner had a true bolt on improvement. I merely replaced my existing connectors and ran the wires in shrink tubing under and then through the MM seat. When I switched it out for a Boss this year, all the wiring was ready for my new LED taillight.

I wrecked my stock seat getting that damn wire out of there, getting the seat apart. Oh well.
But man, you should have felt how heavy that seat was, and the inside was soaked! I keep my sled inside a heated garage, where it dries out after every ride. While it felt dry on the outside of the seat, the foam inside there was soaking wet and just stunk to high heaven. And very, very heavy.

Looks like you can buy that cable but i only found it for the mountain sled. It is either of these. Not sure what the difference between the 2 is.
CORD, TAILLIGHTÂ 8FS-84717-10-00 $26.25

I wanted to get the seat on and try it out so the fastest option for me was to disassemble the seat. That and the old cover needs repair anyway.

Just finished installing my new MM seat, I ended up just makin a new harness, fits pretty good, the only thing is with the seat being taller it seams cosmeticly that the seat is huge and almost overwhelmes the machine. Dont get me wrong it does look good. I'm willing to sacrifice a little looks to get a much much better seating position. Just my opinion. Can't wait to try It out!
