I bought a 2006 Apex at the end of last year. It was the right price and the sled is in really good condition. However, I don't know if it is an RTX or GT. It is fuel injected and has the dampening control on the clutch side of the tunnel. Does the VIN # tell me which one it is or is there another way to find out? I would take a picture of it and attach it but it is in pieces right now as I am going through the sled end-to-end to make sure it is up to my standards. I would like to know the model I have so that if I have to order any parts I am ordering for the correct model.

What color was it? GT had ohilns EL shock no cut out on the left side. RTX did. RTX was black with red flames and GT was black with silver or chrome graphics.

Its Blue with white stripes on hood. Hood has two cut outs near the nose. Both side panels have cut outs and blue/white stripes.

That is a Standard model not a GT or RTX.

I hear some not so good things about the tunnel mounted adjusters not working. Rear suspension is next on list to come out and be serviced. Anything I should know about taking it out, servicing it and putting it back in?

Removed the RA on my sled years ago. I think I went thru 6 cables. Ice build up kept tearing the cable apart. Made a block off plate from a sheet of aluminum and set the the shock in the middle.
A rebuild on the shock every year and a multirate Big Boy spring keep me smoothly planted on the trail.
