I put 4,000 miles on an 8GS yammie

I've heard good things about the longevity of the OEM belt. Have you noticed any slippage with the hard form of the belt. I know the Ultimax 3 is a bit more plyable and sticky... which some have said pull harder. But it sounds like the longer lasting of the two is surely the stocker.

Anybody know the difference between these two belt models?

i think breaking in a belt properly, cleaning it regularly is the key to limiting slippage - i only noticed slippage on my belt after a hard day of powder riding when it had close to 4,000 miles - 8gs is a hair longer (2mm) and a half mm wider.

i ran my first stock belt to 5500 miles, then decided to get the reverse update done, didnt know the update came with a new updated belt,so i slapped the new one on and kept the original one for spare, still looks very good, now my 2nd belt has 3000 miles without a glitch, that means i rode 9500 miles and i never forked a dime towards a belt since new,i'd say the stocker is the one to get
