I'm thinking of extending my 07 Apex RTX, but I like the slight slide it does in the corners. People say that the Cobra track slides more than a Ripsaw...so...I'm figuring my options are...136" with cobra or 136" tip-up with cobra...Any thoughts on which would most likely slide about the same?...Dan

Personally I decided to go with a 144 with tip up from Muffin Works. Didn't think the gain I will get with 136 was worth the time, money and effort required in making the change.

If you are going long-track and want a bit of give in the corners, the Cobra is definitely the way to go. I used to run a 1.5" ripsaw, and it just simply had toooo much traction. So much that I had to dial up a ton of ski pressure just to get it to turn .... wore my arms out. Swapping out to the Cobra was a world of difference. Still had all the straightline traction, but more give in the corners. I was able to lighten up the ski pressure a lot.

Cobra all the way.

We can also help you out with the extension kit for either 136 or 144. We have a great tunnel extension kit that we can have powder coated to match your tunnel. And our rail extensions are available in a straight design or a tip-up design.

I just did this swap this year to my 06 RTX. I used the Tracks USA 136 kit , it's machined perfect to line up with the factory rails and looks original once it's in. I like the fact that it allows you to run the long slider, some kits run sliderless the last 8 inches. I have the Cobra track with 189 studs and it is simply awesome, I like it so much more than the Rip Saw, it pulls real hard and seems to be wearing well. I did have to raise my ski pressure to make it turn like a 121 but I will never go back to a short track again, I love the 136 track .

I have an 07 RTX that came with a Tracks USA 144" tipped and a 1.75" back country track. I swapped it out for a 1.25 predator and gained about 8 mph on the hard pack, better mileage, increased slider life and better handling. I think it will be even better once I put studs in it.
The extensions look factory and are solid as heck. I did have to add the marginal snow kit but thats no big deal.
I like the extensions and the track together and would not hesitate to tell anyone to go this route. But then again I'm sure all the suggestions in this post are good.
