So I need a new front end, a-arms/ subframe and the whole deal.
Spindles and shocks can be reused..

Question is what to go with? OEM, Timbersled or Skinz?

Since I mostly do mountain riding I figured I'd go with a 39" kit.

Pros and cons on the different setups?

The sled is a 2008 RTX with fox floats. I already have the oilite bushings laying on the coach, so I would like to get to use them on the kit aswell.
But I guess they will fit on all kits?

Price, spare parts availability and functionallity should be considered since i live overseas and would like my spareparts delivered quickly in case i hit a rock again.

Thanks.

Dimebag:

Skinz from OFT looks like the way to go. Bonus too, if you bought your Fox Floats aftermarket and they have the spheircal ball ends, they are fully compatible with the Skinz front end.

I am pretty sure they settled on a shock length of 17.5" center to center, which is the stock shock length on the 08 Nytro. Maybe check with Scott at OFT to confirm, but pretty sure.

#1 Skinz.

#2 39" will be what you want for off trail, boondocking, tree riding etc. I know that you're boosted and if you are going to be a chute slayer, you may want to consider the 42"

#3 The SPG kit has been talked about enough, I don't think that I need to repeat any more. One thing to know is that the Ulmer oilite kit you have fits the SPG front end. They are using OEM Yamaha bushings with their kit.

Pros of the OEM.....Hmmmm....

Cons of the OEM. Really expensive in comparison to the aftermarket parts. Heavy, and not chrome moly. This is important because even though chrome moly is stronger, it has "spring" and "memory" to it. Mild steel ( OEM ) has neither. it either bends or transfers all of the loads to the next available part ( read subframe ).

Pros on the Barkbuster. Lighter, made of chrome moly.

Cons on the Barkbuster. Same geometry as the OEM.

Spindles can be re-used on either the SPG or OEM setup, Barkbuster uses their own spindles.

Shocks can be re-used with all three setups. The SPG kit requires that the Floats have spherical bearings.

You are correct Mike.

I know I'd be going SPG! I'm happy to have an excuse to knock down trees this winter!!

There is the Zbros as well I have read a lot about- but the skinz looks to be the only way to go at this point.
