Looking into buying a gps and there is alot out there! just like to here how they are working in the field. The garmin rino also has two way communication capability. does anyone have this one and how do you like it?

I am running a Garmin 2610. Best place to look is Garmin.com.
It does have a color touch screen and mine does not have the spinning hard drive. (the 2620 has the spinning hard drive)
On a sled or a motorcycle you do not want a spinning hard drive, they tend to crash.
I have mine mounted on the sled, on my motorcycles, and in my car. I only use the voice prompths in the car. I also take this unit with me when I travel and put it in rental cars since the data base is excellent. (much better than the garbage GPS units provided by Avis or Hertz)
I think this model is on the way out so you can oick one up cheap.

if you are going to carry it in your coat pocket, size will matter. I just went with the $99 Etrex and it works fine for finding my way around. If you want one for the car, then there are plenty of options.
Stick with Garmin though.

I got the Garmin 60c and I love it. Color screen is easy to read, the battery life is very good (still on the same batteries I initially put in it back in October), and reception is excellent in heavy tree cover. I've read that some of the units without an external antennae (like the extrex) tend to lose signal in heavy tree canopy conditions.
I also bought the Topo cd and have been very happy with it...the level of detail is pretty amazing. It shows most two-tracks quite accurately.

I bought the lowrance for that reason alone, however garmin is renowned for great gps. J

I have the rhino 120. I use it for snowmobiling, fishing, and driving. It works well especally if others in your group have them. I like the fact that you don't have to carry two separate items (gps/radio). I have ordered the handlebar mount for my snowmobile which will make using it even easier
