I installed a mpi stage 1 on my 08 apex last yr and it works well. I'm currently running klotz 118 for all applications. when I ran a 24/24 pulley set up we seen speeds of 128mph in 1320' and 140mph in 3000'. we used the 23/38 gear combo with a 10 tooth driver. blew the belt when we hit 140 exactly.
now I've installed the 26/22 pulley set and 25/38 gear combo. I've had to install a fuel pump to keep my a/f in the 11's.
what I wanted to know is if anyone knows how low of octane I could go on the stock motor? I haven't installed a head shim because I've read where you lose your bottom end pull. I don't want to blow the motor but I've been told the lower the octane the higher the horsepower the motor will make. does anyone know how much horsepower can be gained by going from 118 to 110 octane? I got told by someone they picked up 6 mph in 1/4 just by going from 116 to 110octane.
my elevation is 1000ft and average temp is -2c to -10c with 60% humidity.

There's far too many different blends of race fuels to be able to say directly that any one will do what you are looking to do.
Most people I know of run a 100 mix, but keep in mind, pump gas KILLS race gas. A 50/50 mix of 110/91 will yeild an average of a 95 octane. The various additives in race gas will still help with detonation though.

just using gems controller. I only race now and it's easy to dial in.
