What secondary spring are you running and why? All the springs listed are OEM Yamaha Springs, except other. What was your reason for changing if you did and can you see any difference? If the Warrior is so fast stock, why are owners dropping 2 springs to the Silver? Is the Silver over rated? Would it not be better to run the pink or white at a lower twist?

Secondary Springs
I have been runing the Silver, but have just switched to the Pink. I have never run this spring and think it may be a better spring for my application.

I Run the Stock white spring, I have a new Silver spring but the jury is still out, I am not too crazy about running 100-120 degrees twist to make it work, even though I know it works in drag racing on ICE or GRASS.
The more torque your engine produces the more belt squeeze you need.
I believe you are headed in the right direction since you are turbocharged.
You need more belt side pressure than the silver can provide.
The more you twist it the closer to binding you can get at top end.
If you have to twist it that far I don't think it is the right spring.
The white spring has about a 1/2 turn more wire than the pink, which means it will twist easier at top end but still provide good side pressure.

I agree with you Ted. I would like to see like sleds run against each other witrh only different secondary springs. I am wondering if the higher rate springs have gotten an unfair rap. I would like to see a silver timed and then a pink and a white timed to see which is better. I have to believe the pink and white would be better for the trail. Maybe the next time they do an Otis type of day some people could try this and see?

Buckeye and Ted,
I have the silver spring twisted to 110 degrees with a HH set up from Matt. I ran this all of last year and the set up seemed to work well.
I went to 110 degrees because I added 1.25" track and I weigh 240 lbs + with equipment. Out of the gate my sled jumps to 9800 and climbs to about 10300.

110 Twist
I wonder if it might work better with less twist and a stiffer spring? I would love to see results on that. I think that much twist would hurt your top end. I know one thing, it is a bitch for one person to get that helix on with that much twist.

Coil springs can best be explained by imagining the spring stretched out perfectly straight, Now it is wire, the thinner the wire the easier it is to bent and also the longer it is the easier it is to bend.
So coil wire thickness and number of coils (length of wire) determines it's character.
I like a thicker wire but with more coils, like the new warrior spring.
It will exert more belt squeeze without having to twist the s**t out of it, and will shift all the way out without binding.
Of course I don't know everything about clutching but I do OK, by applying laws of physics and experience.

Buck and Ted,
I was worried about top end as well. With an 1.25" track on a relatively choppy resevoir , I saw 116-119 MPH on the dream meter. I was told that was very respectable. What do you guys think?

Top end all thought it could be is NOT always a product of clutching, mostly a product of conditions.

Black '03 with Pink spring at 60 ran exactly the same mph (119 on speedo) than my blue '03 with Silver spring at 80. Both with stock weights and 22/38 gearing. We did not test in drag race 660 ft.
