I got the new to me sleds out yesterday. I installed a used white knuckle exhaust on one machine, primarily for the weight savings. The info said 2 db louder. First off, no gripe to the fella I got it from. Greg gave me a fair price and we had a excellent transaction. It seems this system has an awful resonance at about 7500. The actual loudness is not bad. I am thinking to wrap the exterior, or something. Any suggestions? Otherwise I am going back to stock. The other sled I bought has a homemade under tunnel exhaust, 2 glass packs with WR 250 baffles. It sounds great.

I had the EXACT same problem with resonance at 8,000 rpm, although it was with my glasspack instead of a White knuckle. Added a CC insert and that took care of the resonance.

Does it sound similar to this? http://media.putfile.com/BlgsRX-1mtn-w-boost
This is a Modded QC-1 Exhaust from Whiteknuckle (cut out H-pipe and added stock exhasut x-pipe) with an MPI Stage ! SC running 5lbs boost.

Oh yes, I remember the 7,500 RPm resonnance. It about splits your head if you stay there for any length of time. I solved it by going to an under tunnel exhaust. There's more power, a weight savings and even some ear savings to be had from the mod.
Best of luck

I decided to try packing insulation around the can under the heat shield. I also installed the Apex exhaust turnouts. Much better overall. The wife says it's okay now.
