Having a hard time getting a decent rate for insurance on my SRX here in Minnesota. Who do you guys go through to get a good rate? I don't need anything special, just liability should do it, but I can't seem to get a fair rate anywhere...I don't want to switch my car over to a different company, but my current company won't cover my sled. Any help?
Sorry, didn't notice the "insurance" post a little ways down the page...Would still take other suggestions though. Thanks!

Try putting it on your home owners policy. Way cheaper and you can drop the collision at the end of the season and add it back again next winter. I save tons of money thru Auto-Owners, who carries only my homeowners insurance. In May I pull the collision off and just keep theft on them.
One problem...I am 21 and don't own a home! If that were the case, I'd try to get my auto, home, and sled all on one policy. I'm still on my parents auto insurance, and they won't take my sled because its 700cc.
what about AAA? Do you carry any insurance now??

Being only 21 and only wanting liability is gonna scare away most companies.
Indeed, but I can't afford the outrageous prices they want on full coverage for a sled that I don't get the chance to ride but 800 miles tops per year. A look at my driving record will show that it is clean, no tickets or accidents, so perhaps that will help them decide. Even us responsible younger adults get shafted on some of this stuff. And JTS, no I don't have any insurance right now because I've been quoted up to $2000 a year for full coverage, and the least I've been quoted by a local agent was around $1500. I can buy a lot of parts for that much!
Got a quote through Foremost insurance and it was $78 for the entire year, for just liability. I will be signing the application when it comes and completing that. Thanks for the help guys!

Wow...rates sure vary! Foremost quoted me $1742/yr. and $1595 for Progressive. Another agent gave me a very low estimate, but won't get back to me about the actual policy cost after checking my driving record, so I'm betting it came out really high. So another season without insurance here.
