I am wondering who has their setup perfect for trail riding, keeping the ski's on the ground in the corners while still being able to get a great hole shot on the lakes. The more detailed the better as far as how you have them setup. I was not impressed last season with the handling of my sled but come to find out this summer the suspension was all screwed up. I fixed the sit in and put the transfer between max and std. In the front the shocks are preloaded to max )about 5") and the clickers are both set inbetween std and max. Have'nt tried it yet but I hope this fixes my problem. I also put on 6" woodies duallies. Would like to see what other people have for a setup that was tested last season. I only have 300 miles on the sled so not a lot of seat time to adjust things. Any information would be great.

My sled is setup close to yours. The only differences are I have my transfer at std and I have my limiter strap 1 hole tighter than stock. The sled handles ok and rides great. The woody's 6 inch duallys push too much when driving hard into the corners. The studboy duece runners are supposed to be more agressive in the corners while still eliminating the darting. I am going to try these next. One other thing I noticed is when the electric shock is set firmer the sled handles much better and when it is setup as soft as it goes it holeshots better. Experiment with that shock you will see what I mean and don't be afraid to crank it to the max it will still ride good especially when driving faster.

I was in the same boat as you last year, This is what I did over the summer, and what I'm very pleased with after 420 miles this year. Mine bottomed way too easy, even after they replaced the first blown shock. Because of that, the tunnel buckled, and they replaced that too. Anyhow, I'm convinced the shock needs to be revalved and resprung. Pioneer did mine, and it has much better bottoming resistance, as well as a wider range of adjustment on the electric adjust. I also put on the heavier spring. I weigh about 215 plus gear and consider myself a pretty aggressive rider. The suspension is far better this year, but make sure you get the ride in sag set properlly to the manual, its critical for proper suspension performance. That said, I still managed to bottom the sled occasionally, but not nearly as bad as before. It seems like after a half hour of hard hammering, the suspension action deteriorated, and the shock seemed to fade a bit. I suspect a thicker, or better quality suspension fluid would be the answer here, ask your dealer or suspension tuner. I set my transfer rod between standard and minimum, as I like flat power on cornering too. I'll sacrifice a little holeshot. I also bought the updated tunnel braces that the 07 comes with, I think its important to have these, and would have saved me a tunnel if I had them last year. On the front, I think the shocks and spring rate are fine imo. Like most, mine darted in some conditions. I listened to alot of people and what they did for fixes from new skis, duallies, etc.. I ended up going with a 6 inch Bergstrom triple points with shims and ski savers. No darting thats for sure, and still carves good. I'm pretty happy this year with this setup.

I have not got the GT, but I can really recommend the setup from one of my mates:

* Yamaha mountain skis or CA XT skis with Woodys 6X60 or 8x60 (I do not know which combo he is running right now).
* Scandinavian rear shock setup (70 N/mm spring with preload for 40 mm sag, compression adjuster usually around half and rebound adjuster usually around 15 clicks).
* Control rod somewhere between minimum and 25%.
* Bombardier 1.75" lug track from MXZ-X 440 (requires removal of stud protectors).

The more aggressive skis allow the sled to steer also in very soft trail conditions. You want nothing softer than the scandinavian rear shock setup if you want to go fast on very rough trails. The control rod adjusted towards minimum reduces the annoying inside ski lift when accelerating out of corners. Still, because of the track, the sled wheelies like crazy if you just move your weight towards the rear and pull the handlebars...

I pulled strap up 1 hole.Shaper bars 6 inch.Little shimming added to skis and its good.
Sent rear shock to Hygear and did the revalve/rebuild and put the dual rate springs on.Have not really put it to the test yet.

After Thanksgiving I put the Floats on the front. After riding a RTX last year, had to have em.
