Correct, if you have play in your spring when the suspension is at full droop, you'll risk losing the bottom spring perch, which would be messy when you land..
I did have play in mine, but I made modifications to my shocks to keep the spring perch from coming loose. I had them rebuilt at Pioneer and had shim packs put in to shorten their travel.
I have EvolX's on it now, but your sled will handle better on groomed twisty trails with the arms level.
