Hey guys!!
Been waiting a few month for cat to make a decision if they will warranty my cracked primary sheave. Even if they approve I still may go aftermarket and keep the new stock clutch for when I sell the sled.
Who on here is running what? Been going through many threads and it seems Tapp is the most popular.
Who is running one of the aftermarket primaries i mentioned?
How much seat time do you have?
. Is anyone running a team secondary with a aftermarket primary?
I am running hurricane header bundle and 100% trail guy.
Looking for reliability and a clutch that can handle 300++hp. I may do hurricane turbotech upgrade next summer.
Any info would be greatly appreciated and I value your opinion!!

STM has a new primary that is supposedly designed around the 998. If going turbo tech you'll need a 4 arm

Get a TAPP and be done with it. It will last several sleds lifetimes and is totally tunable, most of the tuning is able to be done trailside.

Not a chance will it hold 500hp. 300-350 horse max, same as the sidewinder primary.

I dont know how much hp it will hold but that's what one of the venders on here told me.
I bought the 911 response cover to put on my apex clutch from them.

TAPP all the way. Quiet, smooth, and easily adjustable. I also know from talking to Tcat100 he has several thousand tuned miles on his TAPP and is satisfied.

Read a post a few days ago(from 2015) in the turbo/supercharger section where dave from hurricane had said the apex clutch was reliable up to about 350hp, after that the sheaves become distorted and the bushing begins to bind. If it were me shopping for new clutch It would definitely be the Tapp. Theres a few guys on here with some good setup info and it seems so nice and easy to adjust plus rumor has it his customer service is A+++

Ran & tested STM (had problems), Stock Sidewinder (till it cracked), previous style Viper with no issues, currently on the sled is a Pro-4 3 tower working good and soon to be testing the TAPP primary.

I decided to order the newly redesigned trail stm primary for our 998's.
Can't wait to get er on and start calibrating!
I will definitely post my results.

Interested to see how the Pro 4 works for you . I put one (3 arm also) on my thundercat the end of last season but never got a chance to try it

So far the Pro-4 has been a great clutch! The 3 arm is on my Sidewinder and the 4 arm is on Shagman's Sidewinder. The 4 arm definitely 60 foots better and has more adjustability. So far, bullet proof
