You can do it, but the wheel will get nicked up. It won't hurt the studs, just the wheel.

FYI: If those are 9" wheels you will tare out the back of the die cast alum, frame under the exhaust trail riding.

I run studs over the 10" wheels with no problems or nicks.
You have to run smooth back studs. If you run Woody's, then you have to grind off the "woodys" logo on the back. It must be smooth and fully seated in the track.
