Why Complain!!

. Just remember the days of the old Johnson's and John Deere's that had 3 inches of foam glued onto a 3/4 inch piece of plywood for a seat, a machine that had absoulutely "NO" suspension, and a candle would produce more light than the headlights 20 years ago. I think the comfort levels on these new machines are awsome, [/b]

I do agree with some of what you say but just remembe this , I had a 1978 trailfire (jd) and you are right no suspension, foam on a board , but new it cost around$2000 , my rx 1 cost $12000 (+15% tax)

That is why I want more than what I had in the 70's

Hey my RX1 Mountain is perfect, (now that it dosn't overheat) AND it does have a horn. You should see the people on the side of the trail when I HONK as I go by.

You may have forgotten to take inflation into consideration

I am amazed that anyone would like the old seats. All you have to do is ride long hauls with other brand sleds to see we are getting beat up to a much greater extent. the stock 03 RX1 ride was poor at best in comparison to other brands, It looks great for 05 however.

What good is having a nice comfy seat (like the polaris, ski-doo and arctic cat)?? At some point in your journey your bound to be towed by an RX1.    So enjoy the comfy couch back at the lodge while us RX1 owners will still be ridin'.
I also haxe a 2000 MXZ 600 with 6000km on it, and guess what?? It blew up on the lake this year, and it was towed back by my RX1. So while I am still riding my RX1 at 10,000km, I am sure I will have towed a lot of comfy seated sleds in that time.

I love this forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to get handlebar risers so tall they will be like the "ape hangers" that choppers had years ago. Then I'll stand up and ride, no need to sit anymore. I saw a couple of riders recently that had those, one Cat and one Ski-Doo.

Using inflation in the United States, from 1978 to 2004 $2000 would only be worth $5,711.66 in 2004. So your RX-1 is still worth $6500 more than your JD.

Been riding snowmobiles since a 1973 Ski-Doo. Is there any perfect sled? I would say not!!!!!!!! I thin the edge suspension is probably the best around and would love one under my 2004 RX-1, the only thing that I love about my RX-1 is the MOTOR>>>>>>>>>>>

Would not give that up if I had to ride on a sheet of Plywood............

When you consider inflation, the John Deere would be almost 6,000 now, do you make TWICE as much as you did in 1978?

Plus, you have GOT to be kidding me comparing a 1978 John Deere which certainly had NO suspension to speak of, no electric start, no reverse, and at best 1/3 the horsepower of the RX-1. Compare the John Deere to a Polaris Indy Trail or something like that, NOT to an RX-1.

Part of the point here is not to compare a deere to a rx1 , it is about compaining about what we have , I do not ever remember complaining about my deere( by the way it did have electric start) But I didn't expect much, not that I am complaining about my rx1 either , I am just saying I expect a bit more out of a $12000 sled than a $6000 sled.
I also know that the $12000 is not just inflation it is technoligy, and you have to pay for that.

Do you think tha the guy buying one of yamaha's utility sleds is complaing that his suspension does not work like a cats, I doubt it , but he didn't pay for that.

The 03 seat sucks. Ride 4 or 5 days in a row @ 200 miles a day and you will agree. I am probably getting the 05 seat, hope the hype is right.
