This is my third go round with this. First time I had to pay for it. YES IS FINALLY used up, man the was the best 425$ I ever spent. Saved me over 3000 past for years. Hope stainless y pipe holds up better.

When it starts to get loud or rattles or back fires, STOP and change out the dounuts. Pipes will be fine.

Or add Excell or other after market headers as an alternative.

Will excell solve the donut problem forever?? Do they have some other type of system, and does it still flex? I don't want to change out, only to gain a whole new set of problems. I see it is a center dump. Not sure if I like that or not?....Maybe!

To answer your ? on why the crack, the tunnel starts to flex over time from the rivits wearing and put stress on the some what ridgidly mounted exhaust system. I had to replace alot of the rivits where the tunnel and the bulkhead meet. If you see loose rivits, check if they spin, drill them and replace them. Headers aren't the only problem, my exhaust pipe broke off where it goes 2 into one from all the flexing.

My original 06 Ti pipes might finally be leaking after 4400 hard miles and with boost. I hear a pst pst pst pst when its idling but cant see or feel the leak without dropping the skid. Hoping to make it the rest of the year then stainless pipes might be my plan if my Ti are finally cracked.

I talked with dealer the other day about dounuts, and the tech said Yammi won't allow it but, he has done about 8 sleds a different way. He is not installing bolts to make it tight to the tunnel, just letting it flex from the rubber mounted rear can. I installed mine this way and won't know for a while now. He claimed one sled had 6 grand since doing it. No Probs yet.

I have 6800 mile on originals, but they are crapping out the last 2-300 miles. Need to be done real soon. Just trying to decide if I should go new y pipe + flex pipes, or just new y pipes if the flex looks ok. The new flex pipes are SS also, right? Also wonder if the new excell would last a long time. I know that the pipes are a lot of $, but I would like to put on pipes that will last the best. Hopfully only donuts, and never pipes for 10,000 miles if I switch over to S.S. back to the muffler.

Thoughts???

If you catch the dounuts quick, the pipes will be ok, its the rattling of the clamps that wears through the pipes
