I just purchased the Pc and igntion module from allen, wondering what everyone is using for a wideband air/fuel setup?
I have a oxygen sensor but the gauges are so expensive. Any ideas?

The NGK AFX system is pretty good and costs from $230-260 depending on the location you buy it from. You could also try the AEM Uego as well, which is what I put on customers sleds. You can find either one on Ebay for around $230-260 (includes sensor and all). Do a search on Ebay and check out prices if you don't mind shopping on Ebay.

Here is a quick vid on my Apex showing the NTK/NGK brand A/F gauge and how easy it is to read. Don't mind the bumps!!

for an engine to be as efficient as possible it needs the correct air to fuel ratio entering into the combustion chambers.
These guages will let you see exactly where it is at, now if you leave everything stock there is really no need to mess with it as its calibrated from the factory, but each performance mod you do to the engine be it intake or exhaust will change the air fuel ratio seen inside the combustion chamber. Too much air and your running lean wh ich leads to issues, too little air and of course your rich.
With some of the programmers/modules you can adjust the fuel at various levels of rpms, with the Wideband you could adjust it in each operating range which would provide piece of mind that your in a safe range, it would also help get that last bit of HP out of it.
My sensors on my race cars are downloadable, so i can see where it relates vs rpm so I know if Im fat in what range etc and can make the necessary adjustments.
Im new to the High perf snowmobile game, but this will be one of the first things I add once I start doing mods to the motor.

Thanks Jonathan and Kevin! Good explanation too!!!!!!!!!! I purchased the autometer wideband it's downloadable to read and set the pc also. Where are you guys mounting the o2 bung? do I need to weld in one in each side and tune from there? With the dual exhaust, I would only be tuning one side of 2. Let me know if you can and a pic would be awesome. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!

think of an O2 as this.... you put it in your exhaust.
Kinda like when the doc tells ya to bring in a stool sample to see how healthy you are
I do not have one in my Apex yet so I cant say where. I do plan on getting one as I stated when I start to think of big mods.

Mine is on the right side just in front of the muffler. There is an opening in the tunnel there (you'll see when you get it apart).
I guess you would be fine putting yours in one pipe.
