I am sure this has been asked before, but is it a necessity to have a wideband? The used kit I bought did not come with one, the header did not have a bung either.
I will be running c-12 @ 11-12lbs boost, around sea level. If you think its a must tell me what readings I should be shooting for.

Anyone have one for sale?

A absolute must have, no, but if you plan on doing any tuning it is alot easier! For under $400 you can get a very good setup and that's cheap when you've already spent $$$$ on the boost kit to begin with.

Absolute must have. Don't let anyone tell you diffrent. Get one with the NTK sensor so you can run leaded fuel.

There is a sticky at the top of this page that details the alternative....!

Thanks guys, I think I will invest in one. Travis, NTK sensor? is that a specific brand or just a version from Bosche?

The WMS is a nice unit as well I use one with great success. Something about the WMS does some trick stuff with the bosch heater circuit.

They have good prices and options. You can go to a lcd small screen with different color options. Or round gauge with lots of combinations.

I just got mine, heard alot of good things about it, cant wait to get it on.

Gauge READING FULL THROTTLE AIR/FUEL RATIO
.000 17.0:1
.100 17.0:1
.200 16.0:1
.300 15.5:1
.400 15.0:1
.500 14.7.0:1
.600 Dangerously Lean 14.6:1
.700 Getting lean 14.5:1
.800 Max power(Lean) normally aspirated 14.2:1
.875 Max Power normally aspirated 13.5:1
.900 Max Power (Rich) (NOS,blower,Turbo) 13.2:1 NO! SEE BELOW
1.000 Very Rich 12.5:1

Ted shoots for 11.8:1 to 12.0:1 A/F Under boost with a taper.
For example; full throttle with no boost should be 13.0:1, 5 Psi boost should be 12.5:1 and 10 Psi and above should be no leaner than 12.0:1

Leaner A/F will burn pistons, Rings, valves, and create excessive heat that leads to detonation that will blow head gaskets, break pistons and bend connecting rods.

Please DO NOT tune your boosted sled to 13.2:1 air fuel ratio! Yikes! As Ted Jannetty explained in another post shoot for 12.0:1 at wide open throttle under load.

srx..thanks for that update. That chart came straight from dynotune! No worries I updated it! ;)!

I bought mine from Ebay. I got the NGK/NTK for $239.00. I've seen them on there for 230.00. Do a search on NGK/NTK Wideband and you'll find them.

NTK is the name of the leaded fuel compatable sensor. You mostly see it used with the FJO units, but it's also a option on the new NGK brand units. If price is a concern, check the latter. I guarentee the FJO is a sturdier unit though (they build electronics for military tanks).
