Does anyone know if I can get my 151 to go without problems. I do not want to put a extension on if I don't have to. Anyone have access to one to look and see.

I saw some people were putting 162's under the MTX last year so thought maybe yamaha was putting enough room to expand under the XTX also.

thanks,

kirk

If you want a 151", why not just buy the 153 and put different shocks on it?

Should have been more clear, I already own a 151 m10 and have spring ordered an XTX. I am curious if I can get it to fit without extending the tunnel.

As far as why I didn't buy MTX, there are some fairly major changes to the fx that the mountain version is not getting, among other differences between the flatlander version and the MTX.

Thanks,

My Ulmer tunnel extension looks identical to the xtx, it will be close. The worst that will happen is that you will have to put the Hartman extension on , it is longer then the stocker and will give you lots of room. I've thought of putting that extension on just so I could have more storage on the sled.

The XTX and RTX and Base models get the new front end geometry, but if you want a 151", I can't figure out why you would want the wider front end. Not imagining a 151" being too much fun on the trail. I see you are from Iowa, where do you ride this 151" powder hound?

Why would you want the wide front end?????........LOL!!! Besides feeling like your gonna roll every time you turn ( unless you shim the skis out) He probably has a wide range of terrain like I do. Could go from rivers and trail driving to fields and hill climbs with 3 feet of powder . Not to mention the odd trip to the mountains. I have a 144 in Saskatchewan and for my driving it is alright but the trips out west, not enough. Not to mention the mtx does not have the same shocking, clutching. As far as not fun, I know my 144 acts like it is glued to the trail even when on tight trails. The 151 will deliver a smoother ride and there is a 1.25 ripper available for it. Depends on what you call fun.............

Topgun,

Have you ever been to Iowa? Not exactly a "snowy place" on a regular basis, nor is it really very close to the Mountains.

I am just wondering if this sled really meets the need or it is what he thinks he needs. Just playing the questioning son on this one.

Not to mention, there is little to no off trail riding in areas like that, all private lands and not gonna see 3 feet of powder nearby like you have.

Please re-read original post "can I get MY 151" I obviously already own the suspension. Not trying to rag on you, but I asked a question about what I needed info on and will decide what fits my riding on my own thank you.

Really not trying to sound like a prick, but this is what pi$$es off people on these boards. If everyone would stick to the topic everyone is usually happier and the posts don't get so off topic like they sometimes do.

Glad you are willing to take the time to answer a post anyway.

Well, just remember next winter when you are pissing and moaning about how this sled just won't do what you want it to do, the hyfax is wearing too fast, and you are wishing you hadn't bought a sled under the terms of one snowy winter in 20 years. Remember there was someone trying to make you ask the hard questions.

Oh yeah, by the way, I don't think you will have the room you need to mount that one. The XTX I road this winter did not seem to have the same percentage of extra space as the MTX has.

Like I say Kirk, look at my sled's pic up above and add about 3-4 inchs to the skid. I don't think it'll fit. You could change to the Hartman 144 extension which will give you the length though.

Thanks guys, guess I will have to wait till it gets here and see for sure. If it doesn't work then I will hope Hartman will make a extension for the newly designed tunnel that the non mountain versions will have.

Or possibly the vanamburg may make one.
