Yes, ask jts how he did it and it was before he installed his turbo. From what I remember it was basically clutching.

There is no such thing is a totally stock Artic Cat. Good luck. Maybe the Diamond drive will break while you are running him.

Dan hasnt race either sled yet!
The only big sled ive raced is the Zr800 with studs... Mine was clutched with NO studs..
He got the jump off the line big time...as he was the one who said GO.. but i realed him in quickly beating him by about 40 feet... this was only about a 800 foot race.. but i didnt gain on him past 300 feet!
Your sled should beat both sleds if they are stock...

They had updates to the 900 Diamond drive and clutching as the season went on. The changes made it alot quicker than it started the season.

Brian is right, I haven't ran either. jts has a cousin with an 03 F-7 that he rides with and neither were stock and jts would have to allow the F-7 a huge head start and he would still reel him in

If Muskyhunter is on it, you might have problems!

IMO, it depends on where you are racing! I have 2 buddies with F7's and in the potato fields, I was smokin' both of them off the line and most of the race, but one of them(we call him "Seabiscuit")managed to come out of nowhere and pass me at about 1/8 to 1/4 mile...go figure!! We only ran one ZR 9 and he musta spun or something because he was not even close to us, he left with his tail between his legs! On hardpack, it is different because we were all dead nuts off the line and most of the time the F7's would slightly pull me! I have the 136" Ripsaw, clutching, geared down 2 teeth, and exhaust, the Ripsaw made a huge difference!

Over the past 2 seasons I've run against alot of both of these sleds. If you still have on the 03 track you are at a huge disadvantage IMHO. The snow conditions play more of a role in the race than with any other sled I've owned due to the weight factor. On really hard surface I had alot of fun with them. Even the local Cat guru who's wife was unbeatable on her F7 admitted it ran strong. (She can't weigh much more than 100 lbs). I'm about 180. Unfortunately every time I ran against her it was fairly loose snow conditions. But I didn't feel so bad because no one else beat her either during 2 weekends of countless runs in 2000' with radar. In the hands of a good tuner, either one will give you a hell of a race. Try to wait for good hard pack snow.

I wish jts would answer this post :?sledhed said:what does jts cousins rx1 have for mods/
jts has the RX-1 and it had heavy hitters and a expert X suspention. His cousin had the F-7 and I believe it was clutched.

I have run both the F7 and the ZR9. If the F7 is modded with a CDI box you won't beat it in 660. However he will not be able to run past that.
If it's not CDi modded you should be able to beat them. The question is Traction. IF you can jump them out of the whole he'll never catch you. If he jumps you it will tak about 1000 feet.
The ZR9 is a different animal. You can beat them but in the right hands forget it. In both cases I suggest a 45 hp NOS system. It would cost you about 700 bucks to hand them there #*$&@ real bad!!!!!
