I bought a new Attak GT last year from Culley's in Lancaster, MA. and ponied up for the 5 year YES extended warranty. I had them swap out the RipSaw 1.25" for an Intense 1.5" track before I even picked it up.
Rode all last season without issue (or so I thought). When I went to change the oil this season I found a nice neat round hole in the chaincase cover and the bolt that holds the bottom gear onto the drive shaft sitting in the bottom of the bellypan.
I surmise that the tech that did the track swap did not locktite the bolt or torque it to the proper spec.... The bolt backed out and made contact with the chaincase cover. As the drive shaft spun, it backed the bolt out further and eventually drilled through the case cover.
Opinions?

It's up to your dealer. I know my dealer would fix it no questions asked.

the dealer did the work so he should cover it.

That sucks, I would hope the Dealer would take up the issue with you by full compensation to you.And hope that both he and the Mechanic realize there mistake,it's not about the cost of the repair. What it could of been about is you being stranded somewhere in the middle of nowhere with a broken sled because a few induvidual's not taking due care.Get the dealer to fix and find another dealer.JM.02

In all likely hood, this will be covered, one way or another, with little out-of-pocket on on your account. If not you're getting the shaft BIG TIME!

Not a manufactures defect

No, it's not a manufacturing defect it appears to be the fault of the mechanic. While it may not be covered under warranty I feel it should be repaired at no cost as a goodwill gesture. And whether it's warranty or goodwill it will have the same cost - $0.

I bought my 06' RTX from Larry @ Culleys, he's a straight shooter and should take care of your "problem". He's gone above and beyond to help me out in the past.
