I was just wondering if you guys think Yamaha will replace the front end of the sled. Or give us like an "update" to the new front end setup they have on the 2009 xtx.

It all depends on how many people actually follow up with their dealers to be sure they report the issue to Yamaha. I would asume that if there are any warranty issues with them , they would be reported, but if the dealers tell customers that they can't warranty damage like that and make the customers pay for it, the statistic might not be registered.

Is the front end damage only to the right side , mine is back, so is my friends mtx also, and another fx also right side.

I doubt it that Yamaha will warranty the 08 FX, they just did some corrections/updates for 09, just like automobile manufacturers. If there is a big difference hopefully they will offer an update kit for the 08's at a reasonable price.

I would have to agree... It's not a safety issue, just a real big annoyance.. I'm sure they'll come out with an updated front end, they have to but I can't imagine they're going to give it away..... I brushed a few things this weekend and mine is still straight, so far...BBM said:I doubt it that Yamaha will warranty the 08 FX, they just did some corrections/updates for 09, just like automobile manufacturers. I know it's annoying, but it doesn't take much to fix it. Pay someone $50 to shorten the tierods 2.5 mm, buy some dual runner carbides(Studboy Duece), oil lite bushings from Ulmer and 90% of it is done. I don't think yamaha will warranty anything seeing as probably 90% of the people who bought one(regular joe blow) will never notice anything wrong. They're not going to do anything for the other picky 10%, it wouldn't make financial sense.

I've been hitting stuff all winter and it finally broke. Don't know which hit it was but I don't think Yamaha will warranty my riding style. If they do I hope they will also take care of the torn Tissue in my wrist that has me down for a month.
I am hoping for some good instructions from the iron dog guys on how to... when it comes to reinforcing so I can put my shop guys to work.
Let's face it, we all made the decision to buy a 1st year sled...I'll take my beatings, but the way this thing rides it is worth it. I am excited to be back with Yamaha after 3 years of getting towed out by them.

I dont think they will recall and after thinking on it they shouldnt. I mean that it would be great with an update kit but at the riders expence. It is not a safety issue. It is just a smother and more predictable ride..
The thing that might be a recall issue is the suposedly weak front end. Although I havent heard of any tweaked frontends in sweden yet... Please correct me if I am wrong...

My dealer said his rep sounded like Yamaha will be doing some warranty on the 08s!!!! (front end)

Bent Sub-frames-- Probably get recalled(Safety)
Broken Spindles-- I havent heard of enough to for-see a recall
Front Geometry Upgrade to 09 Specs--- Probably offered at a cost
Just My 2 cents

I haven't had any issues with mine yet....(knock on wood), but if there are updates to give it even better handling, I would gladly pay for it. I've hit alot of $#!t with mine, and it seems to be holding fine. Ditch riding is probably the harshest riding out there, and I've done a ton of that!

Same nate, I've hit things that I wouldn't be surprised if it caused some damage, but seems fine. Hopefully it will hold up here for the rest of the year. Heres hopeing all here with problems get them fixed to their satisfation.
