on a 09 xtx with 2400 miles and yes warranty..and ball joints?my dealer said probably not since its a wear item.dropped the sled off today and sounds like i will be getting my sled back in pieces cause they have to tear it down first to get a est and send it to yamaha.im a mechanic for a living and could do everything my self but thats why i have a warranty RIGHT?at my dealership we warranty idler arm bushings all the time.so with the low miles i hope they do to..and the service writer was a inconsiderate asshole...MOTORCITY POWERSPORTS... :o|

Ball joints, a-arm bushings, exhaust gaskets ext... have always been covered under yes.... you better give them alittle push... or get a hold of the reginal rep... this is why you have YES.

Ball joints are a tricky one as it IS a wear item, the problem is that they wear out way too fast. There is a wear limit, meaning that it is acceptable to Yamaha to have some degree of looseness, if that's a word. I ran in to this problem last year and had to run a season on what I would consider blown out ball joints. I would keep pushing it, or better yet move to a different dealer. Sounds like they don't want to deal with it. I've been there to pick up parts as they were close to work and they had online discount Doo parts, (dual bolt wheel mounts). Anyway, I walked in, took a look around, and thought, this place is not really my cup of tea. Seems like their focus is on bikes and Harley's more than anything. They probably make more on them so from a business standpoint I get it. I drive 2 hours to get warranty work done on my sled, not sure of any place around here that I trust, Kensington Motorsports in Wixom/New Hudson may be worth a try. I had them do the service bulletin on the Phazer hand warmers and steering and it seemed like a decent job. No missing parts, everything was tight, and most importantly no new damage.

Ya know what your doing .....Get the parts out of them and do it yourself. You will be much further ahead in the "RISK"department and have a peice of mind. Or find a dealer that will be more willing to go to bat for you. I had to do this once and let yamaha know about it and they where not to happy with the dealer I went through. I then got a call from that dealer wanting to make it right ..... too late....so I know they where contacted by yamaha and I didn't even have a YES .
A good dealer is hard to find in most places.

a good dealer is very hard to find.i dont know why they would turn down a job like that.easy money making job.although the parts guy at the counter said they only have 3 tech's and they were 3 weeks behind so that might of had something to do with it but still the snow not falling yet.and the sevice writer said that he had called yamaha and they said no warranty.then when i went to pick the sled up 2 hours later .i walk in and he was like i told them how clean your sled is with having 4,200 mile on it.and the sled has only 2,400 mile on it.i was not happy

Thats all I would need to hear! Get your sled out of there and to another dealer. I know the dealer you are working with.......nothing like they used to be.... EERRRR! good luck anyway. I would try kensington motorsports in New Hudson I have heard better things about them.

I honestly dont know a good dealer in lower mi within a hour of me. The problem is around my area there is a lack of caring because snowmobiling is just not big because of the lack of snow.
