Here I've been waiting impatiently for snow, but as soon as the cold weather hit the other day, I started to realize I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to warm weather yet.

So... that said, what can I do to my RTX to protect me from the nasty SK winds? I'm thinking the GT windshield is a must.

how good is the rtx windshield in the cold? or the blue accessory shield? thinking of getting a phazer but lack of wind protection scaring me off... don't want to put one of those huge touring windshields..this is one of the factors i prefer the pre rider forward sleds

My stock mtn lite windshield sits in my storage trailer... never seen snow(it saw about 5 miles of highway, on the way home from the dealer)
Never been cold enough to even think about it. I did ride another mtn light with a windshield... didn't feel right.. :)

dont get me wrong untill your use to it youll freeze your #*$&@ off at least the gt shield is functional and easy to throw on and i dont remove the handguards

If you do a lot of trail riding the tall windshield and wind deflctors are a must. I put the original FX windshield back on the other week just to see what it looks like... won't be using that much. Oh, and I don't remove the handguards either, figure they probably help deflect some as well.

GT windshield and deflectors. If you search this forum on the topic I believe you will even find the part #s for the gt deflectors. Make sure you order the hardware to install them. It is very simple and helps to keep the SK chill off. Maybe your dealer will match the US price.

wind deflectors Left-8gk-7756-00-00, Right 8gk-77562-00-00, screws 98902-05016-00, nuts 90179-05523-00.

Head light deflectors left 8gk-77231-00-00, right 8gk 7723a-00-00, spring nut 90183-06011-00

not crazy about hand guards on any sled...look kinda tacky to me ...if i get a phazer will have to try with and without the shield to see what i think
