Ok, now I have heard through searching that the windage plate will add some MPH on the top end, can someone who as used one please explain that to me? I am thinking about gettign one but not sure if they are worth the money.

Secondly, Belts, Currently I have a Yamaha OEM, and I read in Sno-Tech that if You use a Dayco Ultimax 3 you can gain a few MPH, but you have to change it more frequently. Any info on this would greatly be appreciated. I am getting ready for a trip to Millinocket Maine in two weeks and I want to make sure the sled is in tip top shape.... :yam:

2 plates -discs-go on each side of the secondary clutch covering the cooling fins which makes the secondary more aero.Unless you really work the clutching alot causing heat issues it shouldn't hurt belt wear too much as many have racked up alot of trail miles with them installed. If you have a 2 stroke Yam around you can take a set off that sled if it has a set on it.
You don't really NEED them for trail riding as its mostly the top end WOT on perfect ice or very hard pack where you will most notice the speed increase.
Change belt more because it may wear faster being softer.
Do you absolutely need a new belt and windage plates for trail riding? -no.
Doing radar runs -then you can try these.

Well I wont be doing radar runs at all, but I will be racing a buddy of mine that has a 06 REV 800 , that I would like to be able to at least hang with if not beat. Im sick of hearing his " DOO talk"
