If you keep the stud on ice only then the durability
is very good!

If you run it over rock, black top, or cement not good at all !

I ran stud boy chisels and there is no other stud for traction on ice. I am sure the woodys are just as good. Your sled will feel like it has 250 horsepower. As far as durability, they are horible. You CAN NOT run them over pavment at all or they will be useless. Not even across the road to the gas station. They are a race stud...

many guys will mix these in with carbide trail studs....i have mine sitting here on the bench but havent installed yet....

mixing in 48 at a slightly shorter lenght is what alot of guys do...they wont hold up like carbide obviously but also can be touched up with a grinder to sharpen.

for ice only....there is NO COMPARISON...

Use them in conjuctin with double backers and put slightlly longer stud in one side, chisel in other. Will last a bit longer.

awsome hookup but i would run with ice picks or carbide picks on ice or trail do to lack of side bite gets to be a little unnerving in corners when the rear is slideing out then grabbing. also same feeling when on glare ice at 120m.p.h. and the rear keeps moveing back and forth. wear wise they will last about a year with good snow but will need to be replaced much more often than carbide.if you want to hook and book this is the way to go have fun.

The Roetin Skorpions hook excellent and are carbide tipped with an arrowhead. They are not as durable as a regular style stud but are much better than a steel chisel.
