I've tried the doolies and wasn't impressed. I then put on the Simmons Flexi-ski and noticed a world of difference. They're well worth the price.

My brothers and I have all purchased the dooley's for our RX-1's and are very happy with the results. I just purchased them for my wife's and daughters sleds. They too are happy to have the darting removed completely. I have yet to have a problem in the corners. Just hit the throttle and let the sled fly... My 2 cents

Yes, the doolies do generate a push, but I wanted more push. I have virtually no ski lift, and can power out of corners with the back end out much easier. To gain some steering, just feather the throttle, and keep the front straps pulled way up to keep the front down and weight on the skis. I was going to try a mix, but the regular skag side will bite hard, and the dually side will push a little. I don't like unpredictability. I agree with Welt. 8 out of 10.

I just ordered some single carbide Berstroms with the shims and ski-savers I feel confident after researching and looking how my carbides are sitting on the ground that the shims will put the pressure towards the rear of my carbide and correct the darting ..but what I am mostle interested in Bergstrom for is the durability these skags should last two to one with any other brand check out the test results in there example http://www.bergstromskegs.com/wr/wr_main.htm

I shimmed my stock skis with the dooly's and if you could figure out a way to keep the gas on you could ride hands off at any speed

Dooly's
I've got the 6" Dooly's on my 05 RX-1 shorty, seemed to work great. Also put them on my folks Rage and Vector, no darting there either. Never rode mine without the Dooly's, so I can't comment on the drag or increased push, but it does seem to handle quite well as it is now set up. Drag may not be as much of an issue when the skis come off the ground every time you hit the throttle anyway, eh?

only on tope end is the drag a problem so as long as you aren't a drag racer..should be fine also someone was saying he heard of putting one dooly on one side and a regular on the other...might be a cheaper way to go... with less pushing or plowing and I guess it works good for darting too..so some guys might want to try that!

Dooly's
Just got back from the U.P. half way through the ride I stopped and put on a pair of 6 inch on my 05 RX-1 and this eliminated all of the darting of the past two days, up till now I was running a 6 inch single. The Dooly pushes a little more in the corner but it is a lot more tolerable than the darting. My friend was riding my wifes vector and he wishes he would have spent the $100.00 to eliminate the darting. On my 04 Warrior I used a single 6 inch Dooly on the left ski and this helped tremendously with the darting, good for about 2000 miles! I have also made my own Dooly's by taking an exsisting new carbide and grabbing a slightly worn rod, cutting off the center carbide section with a sloped front and rear approach then welding this right along side the new bar. This helped to eliminate the darting and made use of the piece of crap factory wear rods that Yamaha calls a carbide!!! Short of buying new skis, this has helped me.

Pushing? The word is plowing! I loved the doolys. They were like power steering at first.. but as soon as I started pushing it through the curves the ONLY reason I didnt plow right off the trail was the birm left by the groomer! Needless to say they were off in a heartbeat and I went back to getting thrown around with straight 8". I havent gotten to try one of each yet but I really like the idea especially with this like new set of dooleys. Hmm. dooley on left or right? Ill go with left.

So far the shims seem to have help alot with darting and ride...puts alittle back pressure to rear of ski and with flex in plastic ski gives it alittle cushier ride ..darting on the conditions last ride seemed to go away around 75-90% maybe more? kinda hard to tell with the
conditions I was in... but I know it did help alot!

You have to shim or they will ride and wear on the front.
