we all know that cat has allways liked this title, and i cant see them giving it up any time soon. with next year being the last year of suzuki 180 hp power plant, who do you think will build the replacement motor? do you think for one second that cat can build a motor in house of that caliber? of course not, but yamaha can. and just like when cat ordered the turbo motor from suzuki, they can now order a replacement from yamaha, whatever they feel is necessary to get the job done.by then ski-dont will have another mach-z in the line up, polaris will put more boost in that water pump engine from webber, and cat will know exactly how much horsepower to order. this means the next srx might come in green. this also allows yamaha to put out some serious power while still being a good corporate citizen. this may be the reason they havent built this sled allready, as we all know the potential of their motors. the future looks good for both cat and yamaha, as the shared build gives us the best of both companys. there may be some bugs to iron out, but these two can build the best sleds on the planet, bar none, and there is nobody else out there that that can do it better. ;)!

The Apex is faster than the stock 1100T from Cat. After reflash ecu etc. it´s different story.

Might be that Yammie guys don´t really care about the fastest sleds, since everybody knows that when you turbo the 4-cylinder genesis it´s all over for the other sleds.

I think AC will turbo / supercharge the 1050 Nytro engine for their purpose. Easy and safe 180 - 200 hp there.

At the Mpls Yamaha showing yesterday they had two of OSP's turbo Yamaha drag racing machines on display. I talked with the engine builder for a few minutes. He said the Apex based motor machine he has putting out over 700HP. I asked him what he gets out of a Doo 1200 and an 1100 Cat/Suzuki motor. He said a little over 600 on each of those. So yes, the Genesis motor has more potential.
 
this deal gives cat access to one of the best motor manufactures in the world. the yamaha faithful have been asking for years for a factory turbo or supercharged sled. i think its coming but it will be a cat sled. arctic cat has always been the one to make the fastest sled claims, yamaha always takes a humble approach focusing on quality and durability. this will allow them to build the trail sleds and touring sleds while allowing cat to focus on bump and ditchbanging sleds. how many of us here are running another brand of skid in our yamahas. have you heard of any cat owners saying they were looking to install a yamaha skid to improve the ride? these two companys both have strengths and weaknesses, and they both know it. the future looks good for the consumer, even if green is not your favorite color, paint is cheap.
