Question for you guys... What would cause the rail tips to wear on a 07 Attak? It has 3500kms. My right one was worn right off and the other had 10% left. My limiter strap is at factory setting and transfer rod to set to max.
Yesterday I repaced the tips and sliders and moved the transfer rod setting to the the 1/2 way mark. Put on 100km and found some wear on the right tip again. We rode in mostly powder 12"++ with some high speed trail running. Maybe they were just seating themselves in???
Would it be b/c with my limiter strap at max it is causing the front end to point up too much putting more wear at the tips when in deep snow?
Never had a problem before. The first time I noticed them wearing was after a 180km run in 2' of soft snow. Dam things cost $50 each.
I ride 60% trail & 40% deeper snow conditions in stubble fields/ditches.

They seem to really wear down in deeper powder snow, I run 95% groomed trails and have some wear after 9000kms so far, when running in the deeper stuff the front part of the suspension seems to STAB the track clips if your running mostly deep stuff I'd pull/shorten your limiter strap to the shortess and set your MONO spring softer so that she doesn't trench the snow as much and leave your transfer to MAX...the only down fall with this set up is for groomed trail riding it will not HANDLE very well :o|
