i know there are other threads, my sliders are worn close to nothing and i'm wondering if i'll finish this trip before they sliders are finished. I would much rather not lose a day of riding if i can.
So using skidoo parts (i've heard a few people mention skidoo parts and saying they last longer, are they talking about drivers or sliders?), just order them for a sled with a 153 or longer track and cut to fit if needed or what?
Can i flip the sliders end for end to get a little bit more life from it? Its wearing worst right at the front.
i am going to loosen the track a touch tommorow before i ride as well. But its a turbo nytro so i expect that it will still wear noticeably if the way its worn so far is any indication.
PS: staying in kelowna/vernon area so if anyone knows somewhere around here to get the proper parts then i'll head out tommorow and buy them to install on the machine for some care free riding.
thanks

Mine are gone with only 50 miles on the sled !!!!!! I figure I'll need to suck up the limiters and losen up the track a little.
You'll need to cut some windows in one pitch of your track for Hifax removal. Oldest trick in the book.

ttabs, four mounting bolts are all that hold that skid in.
remove the rear skid spring pressure by flipping the retainer forward and removing the spring end from the rail (under pressure be carefull). pull the four mount bolts, pull skid.
remove hyfax, clean and lube rails for ease of reinstall of new hyfax, reinstall skid front then rear mounts.
ALOT EASIER THAN CUTTING AND POUNDING with the skid in. ski

I changed my second set of sliders. I only got 200 miles out of the second set.
I did not have to cut the track to remove them through a window.

I have ice scratchers.
It's been an abnormal year here. However, the recent snow and spring sun should soften things up a bit and give my sliders a bit of a break. I guess I'll know later this afternoon.

ice scratchers made a huge differance, i'm still putting new ones on. i thought the old ones would be dead after one day and after three days of riding they only wore a little bit. well worth the cost of the scratchers.
