Would carb cleaning by a dealer include resynch?

This is one of those 'light went on' thoughts that occured to me as I read though one of the other posts about carb synching. I will ask them when I get a chance, but I am wondering if it is standard procedure, or do you need to specifically ask for it to be done, and consequently pay extra.
I have the old mecury-filled tubes from a long-ago far-away motorcycle. I understand the procedure, but would need help with the specifics on the Vector.

And, while I am on the carb topic. Does anyone use the 100 degree offset screwdriver on the carbtune site? I am wondering if it is of any use when tuning the carbs or draining them? http://www.carbtune.com/bevel100.html

Thanks for the fantastic site and for any comments that you have.

When you pull your carbs out and tilt the bottom upwards you'll be able to get at the pilot and main jets with just a standard screwdriver. You have a 2005 so you'll also have access to the fuel screws (not sure if that is what they are really called). They are plugged on the 2006+ Vectors so they can not be tampered with. I guess it depends on how much "cleaning" and tuning you had in mind. I would specifically ask for them to sync your carbs. They should do it as part of a tune-up but if you just asked them to clean your carbs they may not have it in mind to also sync them. My dealer wanted $65 to sync the carbs.

I bought a Carbtune earlier this season and it works as advertised. You won't need the special offset tool they offer for anything related to the carbs. I did buy 2 "t-fittings" from local car parts store so I could idle the sled as long as needed while adjusting (they tee'd the vacuum lines on middle and clutch side carbs). If you have questions feel free to PM me and can walk you through it - no reason the mercury-style tuner won't work, just need to be extra careful you don't rev the engine too hard and suck mercury in :o|

Was interesting to hear the procedure cost $65...after two uses of my Carbtune it was money well spent. ;)!

Oh, and I found that the allen wrench needed to drain the carbs was included in my tool kit with the sled when I bought it. Just a standard 'ol allen wrench, not sure which size but likely metric.

Wow my dealer wants $210 to clean the carbs...He said it would take 3 hours (1 hour per carb) at $70/hr...

You have got to be Sheeyating me.....highway robbery.

On Polaris's, when I had them in for tunes, or normal maintenance, it was pretty much always standard for them to set and sync carbs.

My dealer can do all 3 in an hour and included the synching for $70. Money well spent IMO.

I cleaned mine (first time) myself in about two hours. Those little idle pilots can get plugged even if you use Seafoam.
I did not sych them though and the sled runs great.

Yeah I am going to do it myself since the dealer's price is way out of whack...I just didn't really have the time to spend on it but 3x the going rate elsewhere just kills me. No wonder some dealers get a bad rap and lose customers. Don't they think people shop around..

Yamaha offers a Vacuum Gage P/N YU44456 (90890-03094) to synchronize the carbs. It's about $60.00. Its on page 1-5 of the shop manual. Mike-Eden, Vt. 05 Vector.
