I just received the Sears Craftsman club tool catalog. On the back cover they have a lift designed for ATVs, Tractors and SNOWMOBILES. It looks very nice and it's on sale for $89.00 (normally $119.00).
I'm wondering if any of you have used a lift such as this? I know after a couple hours of bending over my sled my back is starting to get achy (maybe I'm getting old)? The Sears part # is 50190 if the link I try to attach doesn't work. What are your thoughts? Powder Blue

Hey Powder- I got that lift for my birthday this summer. To be honest it sucks for snowmobiles. Unless you only want to lift the front up a little bit. It is really nice, just not the best for sleds. Last weekend I bought a real snowmobile lift from Shade Tree, lifts my warrior completely off the ground, and it was on sale. I paid 230 including tax. Nice thing is you can still work under the sled(change oil!) while it is up in the air.

The Yammie techs had lifts at the Snow Shoot and they sure were slick. Saves a lot of bendng over.

Powder Blue, if you are looking for a good snowmobile lift, Max Performance has theirs on-sale. Go to their website:
http://www.maxxperf.com/

And then click on the Max Savers. It's on sale for $230. The wheel kit is a little salty but I am sure you could pick something up at a local hardware store and it would work just the same.

Now, I bought mine from this company.

It is not stainless steel but is powder coated. It's cheaper than one from Max Performance; even with the wheel kit. I am happy with mine but the one from Max. Perf. sure does look sweet. Check them both out and I sure you will like either one.

If you are a do-it yourself kind of guy, here is a diagram on how to build one.

There was actually two diagrams for this sled lift. Here is the other:

Apparently, the size of the JPG file is too large. If you are interested in building one, email at rbye@thesmsgroup.com and I can email it to you.

www.mar-lift.com makes a really nice lift. A little more pricey than the ones before but I do know they make a very good product. Oder the wheel kit and Brake Winch one...much better.

WOW! You guys have really made me stop and think about getting a stand seriously. I was just toying with the idea originally and now I am seriously considering one. They all look nice in their own way. I'll think maybe I'll wait a while and see if something even better shows up :) PB

I am buying a Mar-Lift at the Fall Sled show here in Toronto. I know they are at alot of the yearly sled shows. Check them out. They are very well built and last year my buddy who is a welder and I built one to fairly exact specs and it cost us about $210 in materials to replicate and that's without painting. The only problem was that it took a ton of time to build and I never got one for myself. To be honest I didn't really want the prototype anyway...

No problem..glad I could be of help! How does it work with the RX-1? Where are the support points? Pictures would be great!

Naaaaaa LB I don't think so. Chain thing...Been there done that for years now...the concrete gets pretty cold in the winter and it's nice to have the entire sled elevated to work on. Make greasing, melting snow/ice, track adjustment, cleaning...pretty much everything easier!

And c'mon guys let's face it....sled looks pretty cool elevated on it's own stand.! It's like a showpiece in your garage

Thanks for the (somewhat) witty observation LB  ....What I meant is that I don't have to being laying on the concrete to work on the sled if my sled is on a stand.
