I've had a MAR Lift since 97 or 98. One of the best investments I ever made. I'm on my fourth sled since then but still the same lift. I also opted for the wheel kit and would highly recommend it. You can easily move the sled around on the lift. There is a mechanism so that it doen't move if you don't want it too.

Thanks guys! It sure sounds like a lot more fun to buy aftermarket pipes, carb parts or some other go fast part but, I bet anyone would appreciate a lift much more in the long run. Keep posting the links. I will end up getting one of them. Powder Blue

Here is a pic of my RX-1 on the lift I purchased from E&M Manufacturing.

Thanks Rob, I thought there was a link to this manufacturer on here? I don't see it. Do you have one. How do you like it?
I honestly can't imaging not crawling around on the garage floor to grease my suspension fittings, installing my extroverts and new track (whatever that may be), ect. I'll I'd need to hear now is to hear somone has one for a great price (on sale) and I think I'd be over the edge. PB

PB, there is a link to this company in my initial post although you would not of guessed it was for their website because their company name is not even listed within the URL. I'll save you the time to refer to page one of this post and add it here.

I definitely love the lift. It makes working on them sooo much easier. I'm not that old but after spending a couple of hours bending over to work on the sled, my back sure feels like I'm old. Another nice thing about the lift is summer storage. By using it, you keep the track off the ground and since the shocks and springs are elevated, the sled is stored without having tension on the shocks/springs. I remember reading here that it was a good idea to loosen the springs so that they would last longer. I'm sure there are better ones out there and if I wasn't out to find the best deal, I probably would of bought a Mar-Lift or the one from Max Perf. However, I wanted a lift but didn't want to spend too much on one. I think you'll find E&M Manufacturing has the best price. NorthernTool also offered one that was very close in price but what they wanted for their wheel kit made it a lot more than what I paid going with E&M. Now, I also found some diagrams on how to build one and I was going to go that route. However, I figured with me not having the proper cutting tools to make the lift that I would probably end up spending close to what I paid. Plus, I didn't want to have to wait on myself to build it since I really wanted to use it this summer for storage. I'm sure there are others who could build it using the diagrams and probably end up saving money. I do feel I got a decent product with good workmanship at very good price. Although some of the lift companies charge an arm and leg for them, the wheel kit is a must. My only gripe about the lift is that only one set of wheels (the front ones) swivel whereas the back ones only go forward and backwards.

I'll have to give E&M a call. I knew I'd seen this link before. I guess I must have missed the link when I looked. I see the weight capacity for the lift is 700 lbs. An RX-1 Mountain with any amount of fuel in it will be very close if not over that weight. Is the stand tippy (unstable) with your sled on it? Powder Blue

PB,
No, I would say the opposite; the sled feels very stable on it. Sure, you can move it some what side to side while it's elevated because of all the weight lifted up on it but it stills feels sturdy. The only thing that would be nice is if the wheels locked in place so it wouldn't move on you while your working on the sled. I just finished removing my carbs tonight and I have to say of all the years I do this during the pre-season prep & cleaning, this was the first time my back is not sore from bending over to work on the sled. 8)

RobX-1, I MAY stop buy Sears today and look at the one I posted the picture of originally. It says it has a 1200 lb. capacity (compared to the 600-750) capacity of most of the others. It's only $89 too! That makes it where I could get it AND a set of White Knuckle pipes (if the torque isn't diminished because they didn't cross over the pipes). Powder Blue

Is that a Marlift in the above pictures? PB

Yeah PB they are really nice. Blow up the picture and you can see the threaded rod on the wheel kit. You just screw the rod down and it prevents the lift from moving around while you work. Simple feature but ti works well. Also the brake winch "Clicks" when you go up/down so you don't have to worry about it falling down if you slip off the crank. I am getting one in a few weeks. I have help off all my yearly maint. to wait for the lift...it sounds as if I owned the company but I have no affilaition. I can tell you this..I searched high and low for 4 years now and always thought it was too much $$ to spend. This si the year! ... Hey! maybe it will make me a better mechanic...

Yes it is. I got the info from RX wonder. The web is: www.mar-lift.com It is great!! The construction is heavy duty. I got the brake and wheel system. It is stable enough to move around when it is fully in the up position. Love it thanks again Wonder. :!:
