Well,at least Yamaha got out the google bag the LE owners were suppose to get with there 2017 sleds. Its here now lol looks quality, has netting on bottom, for motor heat to enter bag, nice magnetic cover holds well, good size, for camera,or cell phone,or GPS,all things I would want to stay warm. Looks like it may snap in ok,with J-channel on each side, hope it holds good, happy I got it,so for next year, things may be better.

Makes no sense that you just Recieved you bag. Yamaha U.S shipped them out before Christmas. We received boxes of them December 22.
Nice bag but I'm not a big fan. Holds to much heat in when parked.

Makes no sense to me either - like dgjr636 we received them in mid December to distribute to our power surge customers and also received them in for our parts dept stock to sell at that time so there should have been plenty to go around at that point... I added one to my sidewinder btx se and use it to hold a second set of goggles and find it handy to pull out a nice warm dry pair when needed. I do agree they can block some heat in but I had no serious issues with that while using it on mine - but definitely a consideration - I'd recommend to only use it for its intended purpose (goggle holder) and if looking for other small storage go first with the windshield and handlebar bag options.
Those j-hooks on the side do a much better job of securing them in as well when compared to the way the viper style installed which often had issues staying in place

Yeah I got mine early season also.
Just took the hood off and pulled the grid vent off, and snapped the bag in it's place. Have been utilizing it since and have overheated a couple of times on really hard packed or icy trails! Never thought that the bag would have made a difference with that though. Maybe I will remove it tomorrow on my last ride of the year if I overheat, but I am skeptical that it would. Lowering sled by lowest settings does though.

With the stock vent, whenever I stopped trailside I would lay gloves over vent and they would be HOT HOT when I put them back on 2 minutes later...LOTS of heat there right above the head of engine...No bag for me. Windshield bag only.

I installed mine (skeptically because it does throw a lot of heat there) prior to my longest sledding trip of the season. Didn’t really notice any issues overheating. My last ride of the season was actually the only time I had heat issues and most likely that was because it was trails with no base (but fresh snow.)
Curious if anyone actually noticed differences since putting the goggle (or Google as Pete refers to it lol) bag on?

Watched temp gauge, with goggle bag in or vent in can't tell the difference. This was on a day of about -5 with hard ice morning trails, remember wishing I had scratchers on as was hard on slides.

I installed my GOOGLE bag in January. Thought it was stupid at first, but all my buds started leaving their phones in my bag & i ended up loving it. It allows the heat to exit & the magnetic cover makes for a quick camera grab. Pleasantly surprised...

When we talk about allowing heat to escape, that is not the same as overheating due to poor snow conditions. A bag in place is not gonna change that IMO. Its no different then all the vents I added to my 4tec. Sure it helps with underhood temps some, but not gonna change if the sled overheats on icy trails.
If I liked the bag enough, I would simply compensate with a couple of vents nearby....After all the venting I did on my 4tec doo, there are alot of nice options out there for adding vents.
I will add that the main reason I was all about the venting was more about clutch/belt temps on my doo....and since the SW clutches dont run scorching hot like other 4s sleds ive owned, the venting is not as imperative IMO.
