What do you mean lowering the sled down to lowest settings, mean torsion springs in rear? How does that make it run hot?Yeah I got mine early season also.
Just took the hood off and pulled the grid vent off, and snapped the bag in it's place. Have been utilizing it since and have overheated a couple of times on really hard packed or icy trails! Never thought that the bag would have made a difference with that though. Maybe I will remove it tomorrow on my last ride of the year if I overheat, but I am skeptical that it would. Lowering sled by lowest settings does though.

Rear skid soft, lowers sled and keeps flap closer to ground, kicking more snowdust up and around onto exchangers.
Always run my sleds full soft, and keep them low. With the amazing Qs3r shocks you just crank up compression as trails get rough.

The key to avoid overheating is scratchers on the skis, rode hard 6c, bag in, temp steady at 76c

Absolutely, how mine is set up,but I think motorhead was getting me messed up on his wording, because softening up skid generally makes things like snow flap closer to ground,so snow is captured better for lower coolant temps, like you said dan,and I think that was what motorhead ment.Rear skid soft, lowers sled and keeps flap closer to ground, kicking more snowdust up and around onto exchangers.

Yes that is what I meant, it allows the snow flap and of coarse the rear cooler to catch more snow.
Last ride this weekend at Parlin Pond area. Trails were frozen for the first hour, after that they were nice and soft with 50 degree weather. Lowered my suspension settings to 1 right away and left them there. LE comes out of the hole nice in those wet heavy snow conditions. Lifts skis and gets.
As RockerDan stated, lot's of under hood heat on these, especially the turbo side. Had stopped to chat and took off my side panels to check stuff out. Right panel was hot to hold, so yeah in those conditions probably best to take that goggle bag off, but I didn't. Was not running hard, just having fun on my last day
Took it across Parlin pond by the lodge where the trail goes, got 116 on speedo and still climbing on that short stretch, part slush and semi hard pack so I was very impressed. The work that Woodys did to this seemed to wake it up a bit.
Better mileage, better throttle response and feels faster, but wow that clutch is loud when you turn it on in the deep!

Great place for added venting is near that turbo/muffler....sure cant hurt. But the design of the SW/Side mounted turbo is heads and tails ahead of the ZUK turbo, which had its glowing red heat out front hanging off the engine, and the hot air would make its way into clutch area.....was not good. Yammie did this turbo right.

3,500 miles and no noticeable heat issues due to bag. Quite a handy storage compartment actually. Kept things warm but not too hot. Might melt chocolate bars, however. Thanks Kevin,i was hoping it could be used for phone and gps, sense my handlebar bag,now interferrs with my teather cord,i will try and see if I have overheat problems.

Yes,these lower temps 35-40 degrees in very short timeThe key to avoid overheating is scratchers on the skis, rode hard 6c, bag in, temp steady at 76c
