So I purchased the WRP seat kit for my 2003 RX1. I will say I was disappointed with the cheap method of FedEx shipping took me about a month to receive it? I think they could have done away with the storage compartment. It seems like a weak point in the design. When I received my foam, it was starting to tear in the compartment area. Really didn't seem worth complaining about, especially since the long wait. Anyway, I reinforced the area with heavy duty tape and it seems good. It would be better to have some sort of plastic insert to better reinforce the exposed foam. Once in hand the seat was very easy to install. You will need a pneumatic stapler! A heavy duty spring stapler will not work, even an electric stapler doesn't have enough balls to go into the plastic seat pan. I ended up with a cheap Arrow stapler that did the job great.
I used the 2" Rox pivot risers and it turned out great.

Ya I had not liked how foam was pkgd either My foam was small tear also.
Should have plastic insert for trunk.
Air stapler works great.
Road mine 80 miles yesterday and was comfortable tho.

Is there any tank shroud trimming with those?

No, the foam and wrap are a perfect fit to the tank. You will be reusing the seat pan, so the only thing that changes is the profile of the seat.Is there any tank shroud trimming with those?

Did this upgrade put you up high enough to take so your legs can absorb some of the pounding from rough trails? I'm getting ready to order one of these seats

For sure. A lot easier to adjust your stance as needed. The foam is way more firm too, you can take a lot more shock sitting down.
